Daytime running lights - turn on automatically

Hello,

I am wanting to import a 2013 Mustang from the USA into Canada. To meet Canadian regulations, the car must have daytime running lights turn on automatically. Do USA Mustangs have daytime running lights that turn on automatically?

I note all Mustangs are manufactured from the same plant in Flat Rock, Michigan. So I assume it won't be hard to have the daytime running lights automatically turn on.

Any and all thoughts and comments are appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Gunter

Mere seconds at ur local ford dealer.... and that's ONLY if the daytime running lights don't auto come on. I live in BC, and friends in Wash state all tell me that DRL (daytime running lights) all function on any brand of vehicle, and have been like that for decades now. But each state could be different. Ask whoever u are buying from, to test for u. Then see if the seller can arrange at his end to enable DRL, if required. Dunno if the emergency handbrake shuts the DRL off or not.

I don't remember on my 2 Mustangs but I know on my 2016 F150 I can turn that feature on or off with the steering wheel buttons.

My 2013 daytime lights come on automatically as soon as the parking brake is released. All the 2013-2014 models I see on the streets have them on too.

DRL will reduce accidents by 20%. It's a good feature. Myself, I turn on everything during the daytime, regular nightlights and foglamps. Then the rear lights are also on. With a black mustang, I want it as visible as possible.

In case if OP hasn't find the solution yet, I'll post mine. I have to be legal on EU roads, so I had the same question recently.
It took quite some time to sweep through Forscan forums, but I've found the AS BUILT address that needs to be changed.
Note: My Mustang is 2012, V6 Base, Manual - I understand there might be differences for later/higher trim 'Stangs.

In GEM 726-03-01:
DRL off (default) - 0040-71
DRL on (changed) - 0240-73

Now my headlights are always on on lower power whenever the parking brake is released. For automatic, the DRLs should turn on whenever you shift out of Park.

Hi, I did the same but immediately B2477: Module Configuration Failure popped on, and interior light started blinking.

By the way I have 0140-72 by default (which is US DRL mode) but it does nothing.

2010 Mustang GT with HID lights and auto-lamps option

How to get rid of B2477?

Hey, sorry to hear that. As I said it worked for base trim with halogen headlights. Did you try returning to the original values? As far as I remember, before changing AS BUILT, ForScan offers you to create a backup and saves original AS BUILT module dump.
