Would a dented oil pan cause low oil pressure?? Which in turn cause a cam phaser to break?? Any suggestions why a cam phaser would break?

if the dent was right under the pick up tube and made the pump starve for oil then possibly yes...have to be a pretty good dent

I was getting hot rod cams installed. The shop found the broke phaser. He don't know how it broke. It also sent pieces inside the timing chain and it was making a whining noise.

were you there when they "found " the broke phaser? Because i dont think your car would run very smooth with a broken phaser...did you drive the car to the shop ok?

Well, the shop just emailed me and said the noise didn't go away. So he is getting a ford engineer to look at it since it is so new. Only 1,200 miles on it.
