Soooooooooo is there any other downfall the the locker except them making noise when turning ?

I'm through fuckin around with lockers, LSD's, etc. I'm putting in a 31 spline spool at the end of the month. New UCA & LCA's with solid spherical joints. No more torque sensing differentials. No more squishy plastic bushings to fail. All the power to the wheels. FTMFW

Thing is this is still very much a street car and is daily driven , I can't run a spool ...... well i could but I'm not lol

The only poly thing left was the upper because it was holding fine .....well yep she went bye bye too .

I have one with 4.10's, its fine. A little noisey every now and then and sometimes the inside wheels skips on corners (pulling out at junctions really). Hooks up well with M&H 28". I have about 300whp plus a 100shot, alls good.

I've got the locker in two of mine. (not Mustangs) and it makes noise backing in the garage when I turn the whell to angle in like all hell is breaking loose... and really really PUSHES straight through corners if I gas it.

They're quiet and unnoticed forwards mild turning etc.

I "think" they're VERY strong etc. and I kinda of want to get one for my Mustang but the PUSHING straight in corners while gassing worries me...

I put a Truetrac in mine yesterday, I also had them in a Jeep.
And yes they hook up very well with very good street manners!

HUH Well I'm no where near a auto-crosser and pretty much drive like a grandpa on the street ( sometimes lol ) so this isn't really too big of deal but thanks for that info I'll make sure not to goose it going into a corner lol

I have looked into these also but i hear mixed on them and if you really had some idea of my luck you would understand

Just to give a scenario of my luck say bmr has a 1 in 5000 return rate for control arms I will be that 1 person ..... no bullshit and more than likely i will be it again 3 months later

Ron is the king of broken parts, so just cut the shit. LOL

I think some guys here are like mid to low 10's with the TruTrac, and it is from Eaton, makers of the Detroit Locker! I think you have a good chance of being ok...

+1 True Trac is the way to go. Its much more forgiving if its a daily driver and works well at the track. Also its manageable on a wet road with drag radials, don't get caught in the rain with drag radials and a locker.

When did that happen? You went back to NPR? Ask BJ what our trutrac looked like, before went spool (it got shredded). Maybe just one too many transbrake launches. I agree with you about the spool...it was a PITA driving around the neighborhood and you can kiss parallel parking goodbye...lol.

While you're upgrading, you need to swap up them dual GT500 pumps for our slightly-used Lethal triples + megadriver.

Have us both the Truetrac and Detroit Locker here is my 2-cents:

Truetrac - Quiet and good street manners. Good for cars that see some track time. I think it's only rated to 600 rwhp so you'll need to aware of it's power limitation. I recommend it if you are not making major power and your car still sees the street. I've run high 9's with it. When mine was swapped it was showing wear so it was on it's way out.

Locker - A bit more noisy and is OK on the street but on wet roads, turns can be more challenging. The track benefit is it's strength. I recommend it if you race more than drive on the street and if you do drive on the street, do so when it's dry.
