And it gets even better. Called the geico guy back and asked what we could do about the chassis damage, then he was like oh no its not the chassis it's the cradle piece. I'm guessing sub frame? He seemed clueless

But now I gotta wait for geico to approve the supplement which could be days or weeks. And there's a chance they could deny it since my car doesn't have the strut tower brace on so it may be due to the engine movement. Uhhh wtf

Definitely looking into a new insurance company after this. Just don't know if any other companies offer $0 deductibles

Why would you want to pay for a 0 deductible? You're simply paying the deductible up front as part of your insurance premium. You can probably save $3-400 per year with a $500 deductible. Put your money in your own pocket instead of theirs.

^^This...

Insurance should be there for catastrophes, not shopping cart dings... Quit paying insurance companies for permission to have a lower deductible. That is like paying the IRS throughout the year at a "0" dependent rate and never ask for the $$ they do not have rights to when you file...

It's only about $5 more a month for the $0 deductible

You are speaking to Comprehensive, I assumed Collision. That said.. Many companies offer "No claim discount" if no claim has been made in the last 60 months and it ranges from 5% to 20% of your entire auto policy(ies) amount... Glass and towing only effect a handful of companies with that discount. Most ignore those claims...

The higher the deductible the less chance of a claim being filed. That's why rates get significantly cheaper with higher deductibles. People who pay for a lower deductible are people who make higher than average claims.

My only experience with geico was when I was in the USAF. They took advantage of me and every other service member I knew or have known. When I switched to Farmers it was 1/3 the cost for better insurance. Even my Colonial insurance in Germany was less than geico in the US.

OP: If you get jerked around contact your state insurance commissioner. They love to get involved with these types of things.

The body shop should have caught that right away. Shoddy work if you ask me.

Yep.

If it were my I would be hesitant to even have them touch the car from here out. Of course, by the sound of what's going on with Gecko that's probably not an option.

This is true. The person doing the repair should know that doesn't line up properly and should also know how to fix the issue. On the other hand Geico could be at fault here cause if they denied the repair the tech isn't going to do it for free and you end up with an improperly repaired vehicle. I see this BS all the time. Knowing that Geico is your insurance company my guess is that's where your issue is.

Or not. Called the geico person today, he's out of the office already. Why is he gone 2 and a half hours early? But anyways, one of his coworkers pulled up the file and she said that they just got the supplement approval today and are still working on the estimate. Uhhh geico themselves had all that done Wednesday and it says the repair is only 2 days. So now I probably won't have it back till Wednesday which sucks cause I have cars and coffee thing on Sunday, wtf

dump that crappy insurance company!!! they only care about their profits, not what you need.
Make sure it gets fixed right. Your comprehensive coverage should take care of it.

IT IS NOT WHAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY WANTS TO PAY, IT IS WHAT IS NEEDED TO FIX IT PROPERLY!!!

(and, you've got the worst luck!)
