I don't know the exact science behind it, but what does this do with the pressure on the hood at higher speeds? Will it stay the same or increase?

Depends on how sealed your CAI filter was. if you did this on a stock box the pressure would increase acting as a ram air (Hmm Idea....)
on the open type CAI with a heat shield, not so much, more just to lower Air Intake Temps

More to come...

I did something similar on my car about 2 years ago, and recently redid it after my supercharger was installed but only from the driver side... I have a aeroforce Interceptor gauge that reads Air Intake temps, and I noticed the 2" pipe that I am running helped cruising temps an average of 5-7* lower. However the biggest difference was in heat soak... to explain:
Normally when I useto accelerate hard, my Intake temps would go from 100* to 125ish. They would remain there for a good 5-10 minutes before dropping back down. Thats with cruising and just flooring it once to get up to speed on a highway, not racing or weaving! But since I installed a cooling tube, the temps still rise to about 125, but they drop back down within 20 seconds, which shows a definate improvement in cooler air being pushed into the intake. keep in mind this is all in FL weather, it hasnt cooled down yet, but I will keep everybody updated once it gets cooler!

I am curious....do you switch from a cone filter to a factory airbox with k&n when you run at the track? With the air ducts does it perform better than a cai set up?

I gotcha. I thought maybe you chose to use the stock box over the cai.

Does this help with cool down time between runs down the track? You'd think the engine wouldnt be getting quite as hot with the air comming in.

logically, i would think that the air would be cooler, but then again, i dont drive on the track that much

I'm going to try this. I touched my C&L street after driving it for about 30min. That damn thing was blazing hot. This has to help some.

i wonder if the extra air will make it run leaner since more air is been pushed in.
