I have an 07 GT w/ 18 inch premium 'fan blade' 5 spokes. Has anyone tried these wheels with Shelby Brembos on the front? It looks like there is decent clearance between the GT front calipers and the wheel. I can slide my fat finger between the wheel and caliper. Thanks in advance for any useful input. I want to run Brembos but not ready for new wheels + tires, yet.

Both the Fanblades and Bullitt-style Ford 18x8.5 rims clear GT500 Brembos WITH the use of one-inch spacers like the H&R bolt-ons. The Fanblades work with the spacers and no other changes; Bullitts require shortening the original wheel studs by 5mm. Fanblades have voids there the studs would interfere on the Bullitts.

Ditto. 1" H&R or Eibach spacers do the trick. Note that you will have to trim the tips of the factory studs on the car back a bit with a cutoff wheel and dress them to avoid them hitting the back of the wheels.

I have been running this setup for 60K miles now over NJ and NY roads. Summer, winter etc. Every 6 months I check spacer torque when I swap tires for the winter. Never an issue.

Don't give up so quick

I have the 18" Bullits and I picked up a set of used Brembo's (as in last night) and am going to use 1" spacers from www.mustangwheelspacers.com They use new studs so you don't have 10 studs per wheel to worry about. The picture is a car with 1" spacers...looks pretty good I think. Anyway, thought this might help you.

When I measured with Brembo's template before, it looked like the fan blades would need a 1/2" or 5/8" spacer to clear. Download the template and measure yourself for the exact spacer needed.
