5.0 pulleys won't work with the 4.6 pulleys, back spacing is different. They are about a half groove off.

Justin was telling me that the 6 rib blower pulleys for the TVS-1900 were the same ones as used on the TVS-2300..used on the coyote engs.

Maybe it was the 8 rib that's different. I think you're right, it's the 8 rib that is one groove off. On the 5.0 they had to add one groove in front and one in back in order to maintain clearance. The older ones they just added two grooves in front.

Justin did something real smart on his 8 rib setup. He added a rib on the front and the back of the 6 rib so he could stuff everything in there without having to move a bunch of stuff around. That would explain why the 8 rib setup is "one tooth off".

I guess it sorta is. I'm just about to pick a core for my HE and of course I'm using the VMP as a yardstick (it's the best out there). I was looking at the VMP site and it says it's 3" thick. But it looks like the core is actually 2.5" thick. And frankly I don't know how he would fit a 3" core in there. At least on anything other than a GT500 (the GT500 has a little more room).

I was wondering if anyone had an actual core dimension.

They're pretty close to a tie. The GT500 being an OEM piece and with on and off availability isn't really the best goalpost.

The GT500 HE is a BEAST, no doubt. Especially for how cheap they can be picked up. They won't be available forever though.

That said, I'll bet a bunch of GT500 guys ditch theirs when mine is available. It's a 35% bigger volume and 30% bigger "face". And has 1.25" fittings.

I painted mine black, but here it is against the factory Ford Racing heat exchanger

Yeah I can see how. All of the current ones are $899, lots of fat on the bones.

The frpp/roush exchanger pictured worked great for me with a 1.9 TVS @8.5 psi or so. It's twice as tall as the thicker units.

Changing out for the gt500 unit to see if I get better performance when it's warm out. I'll post what I find.
