Been battling to get my driver's side exaust manifold off. I've gotten all the top bolts off and the far left and 2nd from the right bolts on the bottom off, looking for tips on how to get the bolt that's pretty much right on top the motor mount off. Mind you I dont own a shop and doing this in my backyard, any help would be great, thanks

I changed my headers while the engine was out so not familiar with that exact scenario, but id say support the engine and remove the engine mount if its causing an obstruction. The manifold bolts can be very tight and rusty so you want all the room you can get.

I did my header swap on ramps. I ended up going from underneath and jacked the engine up, removed the motor mount to get you full access.

You might be able to snake in from underneath by the bell housing but removing the motor mount makes it easier

I did it on jackstands and lifted the engine with bottle jack & block of wood... all from underneath. Also, removed the steering shaft.

Me coming from a RHD country I forgot that the 02 sensor sits close to the chassis leg from memory on that side. just be careful if you support the engine you don't let it drop too much on that side as it might damage the 02 sensor. The steering shaft is also a good option to remove for access as JC stated.

Thank you, my 02 sensor is already busted removing the manifold was 50% to get my 02 sensor off an 50% because it has a leak so I'm throwing new gaskets. Thanks again

When I installed headers I had to remove the motor mounts and lift the motor and inch or two. Definitely used 6 point sockets only.

Best of luck!
