I just put the whipple H.O. kit on my car and now when I go wot and get to around 5000 rpm there is a noise and is sounds kind of like rocks hitting the fender wells but its not. I dont know if the engine is pinging or it is the catalytic converter. When you rev it the right exhaust has a little rattle like a leak or the catalytic converter is bad but the car only has 3,000 miles. What do you think?

Have you had it tuned yet or are you using a canned tune from Whipple? Possibilities could be endless and it's damn hard to diagnose a noise over the internet. But first thing I would do (if you haven't) is get it on a dyno and have the a/f ratio checked to make damn sure it isn't detonation.

ya I agree but it is the tune from whipple, and the a/f ratio gauge is in the green during wot, but it is the shitty one not the wide band.

ya i run 91 witch is the highest you can get here and put a bottle of octane booster in it. I called the guy that put on the supercharger and said it could be a heat shield also, but I dont know I will just take it back to him this week.

First thing you need to do is to get rid of that shitty light show you call an AFR gauge, and get a wideband. That will help you actually keep an eye on your ACTUAL AFR's.

You can get AEM UEGO's for about 220 shipped.

Yes it is requires 91 minimum so I do 91 and most of the time I add a little octane booster.

whent back to the dealer that installed the supercharger and confirmed it was pinging. they said this was normal due to the 115 degree temperature? they said the have put lots of these on f-150's and mustangs and they all do it alittle bit in the summer. I am very skeptical and the guy said I cant get a custom tune cause it will void the warranty.
I am going to call wipple tomorrow and see what they say. Any suggestions, and i mixed some 100 octane race gas with 91 instead of octane booster and going to run that through to see if it helps.
