I roll around on my drag tires (4-1/2" front rims with skinnies,) to and from work and around town probably 1000 miles a year. Braking is actually decent, cornering is compromised. Thing is, the car is probably still more nimble than my beater ranger pickup. I have had to do at least one somewhat emergency maneuver, what you notice is you need about double the steering input to get the car to turn, but it's OK. Just drive with a lot more caution - it's up to you if it's worth it.
As for strength, how do 3000+ lb drag cars do big wheel stands and come slamming back down on these non dot skinnies without bending or breaking them?
I haven't really hit any potholes so I'm not sure how mine would perform. Again, careful, slow. It's a great insurance against speeding/wreckless driving tickets.. haha.
