makes sense.
Kind of funny, but i was just on your site. Have you guys completely moved to Georgia, or still do some work in IL?

Has something recently changed?

no, but when it becomes high profile and a huge thread about it, i dont want to be involved... draws too much attention. Basically, it was just posted that Tim broke the law...

people should keep pertinent/sensitive info out of the public eye, and resort to pm if things seem questionable. good luck out there bob!

So do you have to drive so many miles if you retuned or got codes cleared before you can get tested so sensors are running? I just got my cats in and retuned for the rear O2s to be on and only had a couple miles on the tune with any previous codes cleared and I was rejected again. Figured maybe it was the little miles on the new tune but what do you guys think?

you should drive around for about 30 mins after loading the tune...

Wish i would have followed your post, I have custom fitted JBA high flow cats that work with mac long tubes. I bought them a year ago and found out that i didn't have to go through inspection b/c of where i live, they have 25 miles on them.

Anyone else able to confirm amount of time driving or distance driven after a tune is loaded or the codes are cleared? Im trying to drive around as much as I can on this emissions tune without running into a cop to get it ready for emissions

Try your local Auto Zone or other parts store. Many will lend you an OBD scan tool that has little green lights for emissions status. You can also buy them for around a hundred or so. When you see green, HAUL ASS to the inspection station. You'll do fine.

And this acts differently than a normal scanner tool like from snapon?

What you want to look for is one that tells you your emissions controls status. If you clear all DTCs and then reset your ECM by disconnecting your battery for a few minutes, plugging into a states OBD-II tester will give you a bunch of "Not Ready" codes. By driving the learning cycle these various systems will go to a "Ready" state (and then "Fail" if you are having problems). A reader that you can use that tells you when you are "Ready" for these various systems will be what you need.

My SCT2 clears codes but will not give "Ready" vs, "Not Ready" status (unless I'm missing something). Use one of these and you can look for the green lights to show "Ready" states:

In Texas you are allowed one "Not Ready". Any more than that and you will fail. On my last inspection I clearly did not drive it long enough because I had a "Not Ready" for my EVAP system. This was my only "Not Ready" so I still passed.

Snap-on probably has one that will do the job. There are many of them out there. Just be sure it gives you emissions status.

To my knowledge there is no "trick tune" that will make rear O2 sensors give a "Ready" when they are not there. Search exhaust hacks to find a way to make a system think you have cats.
