For those who have S197 Mustangs, where are you mounting the fire extinguisher and have a car you drive on the street and has full interior? Looking for ideas that aren't to obtrusive since I don't go to the track much but some tracks around here have this safety standard :

If your car goes faster than 13.5 seconds in the quarter mile or 8 seconds in the 1/8th mile it needs to have a Fire Extinguisher installed in the drivers compartment

Just a random thought, make some kind of mount that you can attach under the rear seat. When you go to the track, take the rear seat out, put in the holder, and secure the extinguisher. When done, take it out and put the rear seat back in.

Or put it on the back of one of the fold-down rear seatbacks, and foldit down at the track.

[... I'd like to know what other's have done, too. Sometimes I just carry one in the back floorboard, but that's not real safe, being loose ...]

The only probelm with that is you have to be able to reach it right away. Best place for my friends and I have been on the passenger side right next to the shifter.

I installed mine on the passenger side foot well, up high on the trany tunnel right below the shifter so I can access it quickly.
