First time to track with my blower!!

Alright last time i was at the track i ran a 12.8 with 300 whp. Now i put a paxton 2200 intercooled blower and have 488whp now. I have 275 nt05r's on stock bullits and 410 gears. I have a feeling im not gunna hook good at all. So i want some et street mickey thompson's. What is the ideal size for me to run that i would be happy with on 17 or 15 inch rims thx.

When you get rid of those nt05's on your stock bullits I would trade for 275/50/17 M&H Racemaster drag radial on your stock bullits.... WAYYYYYYYYYY better drag radial

I love the M&H's, only reason i recommended them over the M/T. Im biased

How bout the hoosier I just read a lot of good stuff about them

They are sticky as hell(the hoosiers) but don't drive too much on the road with them or you'll be buying a new set real quick. Try the NT05r's out before you make a judgement, they may work out well. 488 to the tires isn't a crazy amount of power so they may work for you.

If you hook good and drive perfect you may need a cage . Let me know how you do with the NT05s...thinking about getting a set. You may need to run the M&H to get the tire height unless you go with a 15 inch wheel (more tire options)...prolly gonna have to shift into 5th with the Nittos unless your rev limiter is opened up above stock.

My rev limiter is 6500 now and after research looks like 28" looks like the hot set up I think what I have now is only 25.7. So I guess give my tires a shot and go from there?

At 6500 you should be ok with nittos or et streets

12.8 before the blower and now at 488 Hp........hell yeah your gonna need a cage. I say you run 11.5 or better for sure. My ET streets stick like glue, but I'm nowhere near your power output. I run on stock 17` bullits and have 4.10 gears too. I thought those nt05's were suppose to be good?

nt05's are good but not on hoosier and mt's level. But what 15's rims will fit on our cars with no problems? Thx for all the input

Race Stars,17inch in the front and 15x10s in the rear. I run 275x50x15s M/T drag radials . You would need to go with the taller tire with the blower I would think.

I think ill be alright my rev limiter is 6500 a 60 profile would be the ideal size

with 460whp - mustang dyno - I run a 28" tall mt 325-50-15. At 6500 rpm you'll top out 4th at 131mph so you are safe (you'll probably trap low 120s, I trap at 121).

A gear/tire calulator I use is on the front page of http://www.unitedgearheads.com on the left side. The gear ratios are set to the s197 5spd manual by default.

I got a 275-50-15 et street which is only 26 so I'm gunna be close :/ if I hit the rev limiter then ill have to get 60 profile . Got the tires on racestars for 390 bucks couldn't pass it up

How did the 275-50-15 work for you? I just got a set on Weld Pro Stars with only 6 passes on the tires and wheels for $450. I have 4.10s and wonder how they will work for me.

I tried 28" and 26" tires and they were either too much or too little for me. Finally settled on a 27" Hoosier QTP (bias ply, not radial) and it is PERFECT for me.
