Yeah I think I was wrong about the vacuum thing. It seemed so likely to me due to what I would see happen and when it would happen.

The reason I now do not believe it's a vacuum thing is Brenspeed sent me a "test tune" that brings my trans tuning back to 100% stock. Now I only drove with this tune once since they just sent it to me yesterday so I don't want to commit to anything. But I was in some pretty heavy stop and go and the O/D light never flashed. I still need to give it a few more days for better testing. Friday after work is the best time since traffic is the worst then. If it's going to do it, it'll do it on a Friday. This also reminded me how SHITTY Ford programs the auto stock. WTF are they thinking? It seems like to me the stock auto programming would give the car a lot worse MPG due to all the excess slipping.

Anyway, Brenspeed told me that they have started to get more feedback from other customers about this issue (yay!) and it seems only SOME of the auto cars have this problem. Some cars seem to be more sensitive to the issue than others for some reason. They said that one of their customers had something adjusted on his auto that was slightly out of spec for the factory and the issue went away completely. What they have determined is that without the cams the "tolerance" is ok, but with cams and a slight variance in the trans the two variables combined may cause this. Sounds similar to what street_stallions said. They mentioned they're getting more and more info about this daily.

So it looks like Brenspeed tunes will now have a fix for this issue soon and according to BBR John, they can fix it as well. Once I get my Brenspeed and BBR tunes fixed for this issue (and my idle issues w/ my BBR) I'll be happy as a mofo and will stop getting nervous every time I drive my car now.

Did you ever download the fault?
The SCT wont download a trans fault but a regular d/l'r will like the one you can borrow at a Checker or Autozone.
