Alright, well I got a new/better job and we all know what that means...MOD TIME! Or i may end up saving the extra dough, it depends.

Before I get uber-flamed, I'd like it to be known that I have done a fair amount of research and just need a little more expertise if that's not too much to ask.

I'm looking at going with a Vortech Supercharger system at around 8-9 psi. I'm not wanting crazy, just a fun street car that I can take to the track and drive daily. I know there are a few members that have pieced together their own kits, and that is what I'd like to do as well. Any input from those with previous experience would be greatly appreciated!

So far what I think I need (feel free to tell me yes or no, and suggest better or other parts):

- Headunit (would like v2 sq so as not to mess with oil pan)
- Intercooler- 24x12x4" CX Racing - $199
- 39 lb Injectors - $250ish
- BAP - $200ish
- MAFia -$120
- Power steering relocation assembly - $89
- Supercharger mounting bracket - $379
- Air Intake Assembly - $239
- Radiator Pipe Relocation - $53
- Oil Feed/Drain (if necessary) - $ 59
- PCV mod - $33
- Coolant Bypass Hose Relocation - $159
- Fuel Management Unit - Is this necessary? Need help on brand/etc.
- Vortech Discharge Assembly - $180
- Piping - $150
- Tuning - $500

So without tuning or headunit I'm looking at ~$2100.
If I can get a Headunit for under $600 in decent condition I'd be golden @ around $3000 total with tuning.

Anybody care to feed me some info, technical issues, point out problems, etc? I'm new to F/I and just have been researching the last couple of days.

Would be on a 2005 Mustang GT Auto, O/R H stock manifolds with Hot Rods. May swap to 4.10 gears soon.

Btw with a V2 you have to tap the oil pan, the V3 is the self lubricating one. Also, Some parts I've noticed you are shooting high and others low. If it was me, I would search for a complete used kit, rather than piecing one together.

Care to elaborate/offer suggestions?
Nothing really specific. It ALWAYS cost more than you plane for. The small thing will kill you that you didn't know about or forgot, and then there's the "Out shit" factor. Seriously, just expect more, no matter how much you plan. That's all I really meant.

Why don't you PM "beefcake" on here, it's an awesome price for a new non intercooled kit.

Just buy the Novi 2200 that Towelly has in the classifieds, it is cheap for a new setup.

FMU? LOL

But if you're talking about the one I linked to, it includes injectors, a BAP, and an X3 loaded with a blower tune.

Add your CX racing intercooler (or a $200 meth injection kit) and you're in good shape. It's working well for me.

Silverbullet, despite my screen name I do have a v8.

Thanks for the input guys, I contacted beefcake and they have awesome prices!

Also, why such laughter at the fmu? Maybe me research is wrong, but vortech's website said it was essential?
