The forged cranks also have a sort of purplish iridescent hue on the counter weights

That is from oil heat treating Kellogg did on the cranks.
It looks forged and I can verify from experience all Manual Mach1's were forged cranks.
Also its a f6 casting and the 8-bolt Windsor cast cranks weren't cast until 98 f8/f9 etc.

I have torn down way too many mod motors :argh:

Now what are the plans for it?

Bruce, the center counter weight is the key. To my knowledge, Ford never made a cast crank with a center counter weight. Sounds like you got a good deal, now what are you going to do with it??

I'm not 100% sure. I've picked up one set of h beam rods and two sets of boss rods. I also have two stock 4.6 cranks to go with this forged unit. One Teksid block and one 1L Mach block. One set of CP pistons and two sets of Wiseco on order.

My plans are to assemble a few modular short blocks and see if there is any demand. One will be a big bore while the other two will be overbored stock diameter.

More than likely I'll combine the forged crank with the h beam rods or just sell it to buy more components.

I'm planning on building mid hp blocks, not race motors. I can base them on the successful combinations I've built for myself and know that they will handle mid 500's rwhp no problem.
