Who has forged internals installed? How much are you putting out? Who did you go with?

I want to push my powerhouse kit up into the 20s (psi), but am looking into the motor. I think I am going to go with Super Six Motorsports but want to get opinions. Thanks.

I had Adam @ Spakin Time Motorsports build my motor. Quite a few guys on here have motors and tunes by him. Im pushing over 700rwhp on a 302ci

The 4.0L V6's have hyperweak pistons/ and forged rods.

@aeraceranthony

Other than Supersix, the only person I know of is Tom at Morana Racing but I know nobody that has tried Tom. The only stories I've herd from Tom are bad.

As for the 4.0 having forged internals, it can only handle so much. I dunno what it is, I'm still looking for the magic number(till the motor goes boom!). If anyone knows, please post.

I have heard the same about Morana.

As for Adam, I have met him several times at Irwindale and seen his car run. He has done an amazing job with his and everyone elses car I seen from ST Motorsports. I would build the motor myself and have him look it over and tune it.

I dont remember who but i know someone here had a fast v6 and was making a ton of power until the motor blue, and seems like building a new forged v6 motor would cost way to much and ended doing a 5.4 swap

wow, no shit? that's awesome! I had no clue. Well, I'll feel a little better spraying my car knowing that. Any particular reason why Ford would do this?

and does SSM sell a crank for our cars?
so u guys can make fun of v8s baby rods:clap:

Yeah, when he had his site up I went through that bitch day after day getting ideas as to what I can do... I'm going to try and see how fast I can go on spray. Maybe I'll have the first non shop owned car run a 12.3 on spray. :omfg:

Powerhouse set that bar preeeeeeeeeety damn high though. lol.

So the 4.0 engine should be good till 400hp. The fuel system is good till 350hp with 39# injectors, then you will need a kenne bell boost a pump or the the GT500 dual pump(Our vendor, Evolution Performance, carries both for the V6).

Alloy6ix you should hit your goal with the above and CAI, long tubes, dual mid pipe, dual cat back, 70mm throttle body, a 100 shot, a 8.8 from new take off parts, some weight reduction and a very good tune.

Oh, that's all? lol. :kidding: yeah for now I got the CAI, Steeda Duals, T-lok, but on the 7.5 rear. I'm having locals here make a tune for me when I start to spray. I will be reading further into Matt Ds thread on weight reduction though. Thanks for the input. :beerchug2:

The reason for the 8.8 is because its about 35% stronger than 7.5. When spraying, you basically shock the drivetrain with all that instant torque (unless you go with a progressive N2O system).

Nope. I have seen multiple people on the mustangcollective that started off with nitrous and ran 125 shot and wheren't able to break into the high 12's let along low 12's.

@alloy6ix
I don't see you being able to run low 12's on spray because with the spray our v6's just lack the horsepower but make a lot of torque. If you want low 12's your best bet would be a turbo with 9psi if your a good driver or 12psi.

There was a guy "Flap jack" who ran low 12's with a procharger w/ cams but he had the upgraded blower.

Oh yeah dude, I had asked Mike from powerhouse how they went about doing it in their shop car. Honestly, I don't even see myself hitting a low 12 on spray, but I can always try! :beerchug2:

But.. If I reduced weight a nut load... hmmmm.... and made a belly pan... and... lol, point being Matts thread is going to come in handy when the time comes. I'm dead set on 12s with spray, even if it's a 12.9994. lol. I also weigh about 200lbs right now, I could easily drop to 175 in about two months without starving. haha. I'm going balls to the wall for this to happen!!!! lol.

I think with some wieght reduction that you should be able to reach 12.9 with a 125 shot or even 150 shot. I would be hesitant though to put a 175 shot on because these engines don't like Nitrous. Most of the engine I've read that have blown up where because of dual F/I with some combination of Nitrous or just getting greedy with the Nitrous.
