Im pretty sure the FR500S splitter was made by CDC just like the chin. APR stuff is purely cosmetic.

I actuall already did this and I can get these water jet cut locally. I was going to make them out of Alumilite and cover it in carbon fiber with clear resin. Did a buddies and it came out AWSOME! If you want one made PM me!

the APR splitter is pretty strong but will still flex. Its also a bit heavier than i expected. It is maybe 7-10lbs or so.

If your going to go with APR, go with the honeycomb nomex splitter. it is super lightweight and does not flex.

APR is not purely cosmetic. The spoiler they make (1 of) is what they put on the 427R Trak Pak. They only put 100lbs of downforce, but it was relatively small. They make 2 other sizes that put down substantial force. I wouldn't put APR on par with Gstream, but definitely aren't "purely cosmetic".

I have no doubt that their spoilers are quite effective at what they do. I wouldn't mind having one myself. But the SPLITTERS I've seen for the mustang look to be about as effective as the cdc splitter for the classic chin.

I have had a lot of guys ask me about making a splitter for them and all PMs are replied to. I can do a single piece all the way back to the rack
covered in Fiberglass so you can paint it with rods and hardware for 300.00. If you want to do Carbon fiber I can do Black, Red, Silver, Blue, Green, Pink, Yellow(Kevlar). It will add about 100.00 to the cost due to the special resin and the clear coat. The material is 2 thin sheets of Alum sandwiching a solid Carbon Fiber Core. Super strong and super light and thickness is .250" The template I have is for the CDC aggressive chin spoiler but it should work for the classic. I had a gentleman ask me about the 07-09 GT500 and I actually saw a guy with a 08 today at the store and he let me put the template on and it looked pretty mean! Now the edge will sit about 6" in front of the CDC aggressive spoiler. It will look a lot like the one in the pic just lighter and not as flimsy. The rods will be a little different also.

Well that sir is a impressive splitter. How thick are the alum sheets you sandwich in?

The sheets I am told are .012" thick each with a center core being .226" thus giving an overall thickness of .250". I have found a place locally here that carries it and have already order a 4x8 sheet. I have also found out I can get it in colors but I haven't priced the colors yet. All the fasteners are Stainless so they wont corrode and rust.
