The last day of qualifying I hit 100.089 brfore the motor dropped. My whole goal was to not crash n die and if I could do that then break 100 my first time their. I was happy! I wanted to do better but it just wasent in the cards. I'm still keeping in shape to go back if I can but we will see. I'm just getting bored with bikes so I want to try my hand in the cars stuff. I'm going to try my bike lines first time at Hallett and see how that works. I just want to be careful since I'm used to 200hp and 380lbs not 350hp and 3400! That's why I'm putting BIG brakes and sticky tyres!

100mph is fast, good for you!

I accomplished a LOT of things in my motorcycle roadracing career but unfortunately the IOM was not one of them. I would have been happy to hit 100mph my first time there if I had a chance to run it.

Good luck running bike lines with the car! LOL! You can do it, but it is not the fast way around in the least. Unless your car has 600+hp and lots of traction that is. Then you could run bike-ish lines and still get around pretty good.

My first time at the track in the car was a huge learning experience. Even though at one time I held the lap record at that track (on a bike) it may was well have been all new. I’m still trying to break myself of the bike lines.

Have fun!

Yea i'm interested in the times I will be able to run after I get it set up. Im running high 1:18s and low 1:19s at Hallett on the bike but that's more of a point and shoot track. You actually can go faster by sliding the rear and getting it turned by the rear tyre than actually using GP250 lines. Now Texas World, Miller, Daytona etc is way different. If you can get out away from traffic then you can use the wide lines and keep the corner speed up. Yea I was WAY stoked on my time but way disappointed the motor let go. I watched the on board laps on DVD in slow motion everyday for 2 years before I went and that helped tremendously! Once your their it looks WAY bigger than on TV! Its also way more bumpy than on TV! HAHA! I will never forget i was out by Balacry and I was cranked WAY over thinking I was hauling ass! As I was pulling the bike back up the front wheel came off the ground about 6" while my puck was still touching and I yelled in my helmet "holy shit that was cool!!!" Then just a corner or so later Conner Cummings past me like I was an old lady with one had on the bar waving for me to come follow him. Damn those guys were fast!

I'll bet, and this is just for fun you will be 8-10sec a lap slower in the car.

Those are the moments I lived for when I was riding. I'm hearing you loud and clear.:beerchug2:

Well, there is a certain amount of "crazy" in getting around there fast. And lots of laps. What do they say it takes to learn the course? 4 years? Man I wish I had taken a crack at it. I'm too old (40) and not willing to chuck myself down the road anymore to go fast. I missed my chance.

My current goal is to run the 24hrs of Daytona (car). I don't care if it takes 10 years. My quest starts next spring. I'm going to be driving BOSS 302S's and getting instruction from Dean Martin.:thumb: I hope I can get the feel for the car thing like I did the bikes.

That would be cool! I raced the first Moto ST at Daytona which was a 6hr day 6hr night. It was super cool running the lights at Daytona! I will say this tho when the sun goes down their and the sea breeze comes in depending on the time of year(ours was October) the track will go off and you have to change your riding style. It doesn't go off as bad as Willow Springs at night but it does go off. The International Horseshoe is always sketchy no matter what tho.

Dang dude, that looks like a lot of fun! I gotta make a track date. I'm jonesing!
I've also got a bad problem of feeling like I want to finish some mods/work before I go, but that's really getting old .

Are you talking about the Isle or just a track day?

Any track day. I don't ride bikes. I like them and enjoy riding them when I did. I was at a point years ago when I was looking either at a truck AND an R1 or the money pit I have now. I told the wife "pick one. I will be happy with either. " She said "get the car, it's safer". I said " ok. As long as you understand it's eventually gonna be as fast as that bike". She still said car. No my car is not faster than an R1, but I have taken out a 750 full-ferring bike. I just don't remember what it was, but it was one of the "R" bikes; not a cruiser or sport bike. I was suprised to say the least. Anyway, I've only watched The Isle of Mann from the comfort of my home. You got a serious background going sir.

Oh OK I thought you were saying you wanted to go race the Isle. I was going to give you a little advice since a going to a track day, racing a short circuit here and the Isle was 3 different set ups. The Isle is something COMPLETLY different on the set up and style of riding!

You should see some of the women their! OMG!!

haha I'll admit, I sometimes only go to NASCAR races for the sexy girls. Well, when I can get free tickets that is. I've seen more, ahem, goods... at the races than at the past few rock concerts I've been to which is a travesty IMO. lol

Those are sexy!

I think I'm going to go with Koni yellows and some H&R super sport springs or race ones. for camber adjustment I'm not sure on camber plates yet.
