gear whine on deceleration

Changed my gears out over the weekend.I figure that i didn't get proper pinion bearing preload.The whine is noticable but not extremely loud.I will be driving 75 miles from now till the weekend.Will it be ok till the weekend so i can take it apart and adjust it properely.
