How does a godzilla fit in a mustang? What transmissions will work? For older mustang's what other parts would need fo be updated/replaced?
The godzilla's outside dimensions are quite a bit smaller than a coyote or a 3V so the fit is good with the exception of where the throttle body sits causing hood clearance issues.
Bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as the ford modular so any transmission that came behind a mod motor can be made to work. List includes T45, TR3650, TR6060, 4R70, 5R55, 4R100, MT-82, 6R80, TR3160, etc...

Ford Performance has produced a new prototype intake manifold that gets rid of the upward pointing throttle body flange so that it'll clear stock Mustang hoods.

They're also going to launch their new Godzilla 7.3 manual transmission control pack shortly.

New Ford Performance low profile intake manifold dyno tested:

Roughly 10hp/15lbft peak gains with increase in torque across the rpm range. Perfect for packaging into Mustangs where hood clearance is limited.

Why the heck would they design the intake manifold with an upward pointing TB flange ? That's about as silly as it gets..... unless it was for a truck.

Ford Performance have just introduced their 7.3L Megazilla crate engine with 615hp @ 5800rpm and a mighty 640lbft @ 3800rpm, plus a low profile intake manifold that'll clear Mustang hoods:

Very tasty indeed. More HP/TQ potential and occupies less underhood real estate than any Coyote, Aluminator, or Voodoo engine. What's not to like?
With twin turbos, 1000hp is easily achievable.

I wonder how hard it would be to drop one into my ‘67 F100 (it currently has 351C with a C6 transmission) [emoji848]

My 59 Bird 430 MEL gets more than that (no OD, crap aero, 4300 lbs etc...). You'd have to trailer it to the track and only run 1/4's to get 8 on a Godzilla mustang swap.

An engine with double the HP & TQ of a stock 05-09 GT would allow you to run taller gearing, so gas mileage should be a lot better than that especially crusing on the highway in 6th gear (T56 Magnum XL).
A torque output of 640lbft from a N/A engine displacing 7291cc (444.9ci) is top drawer stuff.

Always liked the engineering behind big monster motors shoehorned into a smaller chassis.

EX: Thunderbolts, A/C Cobra, Shogun Festiva, Scarab Datsun, etc...

I have ridden in a few of those (i.e., 5.0 Monster Miata, V8 Vega and S-10) and my older Brother had an 85' Olds 442 which we transplanted a healthy 6.6L 403 for the anemic 5.0L 307... the thrill and sheer acceleration is intoxicating. Power to weight ratio is absolutely incredible!

I am sure some of you will have to "GOOGLE" a few of those car names... LOL

And you really have to compare it to a TVS'd 4.6/5.0 to get equal throttle response and torque curve. My TVS killed my mileage, on average about 3-4 MPG being nice to it, way more beating it due to richer A/F (and of course, way more power).

Hi Dino,

Oldsmobile (long gone by now) had several different displacements over the years... I am sure they had a 400 in there back in the early 60's and then the larger 455 in 70's... FYI Interestingly, 442 stands for; 4-speed, four barrel and dual exhaust. LOL

In 1985 the 442 was mostly a decal option powered by a smog-controlled 5.0L 307 Oldsmobile motor, I recall rated at 175-190HP. We pulled a 6.6L 403 Olds motor from a low-milage Delta 88 and did some minor upgrades. With the 200-R4 (4-speed auto) and 3:73 gears it ran like a champ! Surprised a lot of people too.
