Ok so I'm sure I'm missing something here but I can't seem to find any threads about this. A buddy of mine is considering doing this but wants more info about what all is needed. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Nope not to my knowledge. He would be better off finding a used Whipple kit or TVS. Most of the conversion manifolds are around $2k anyways.

It can be done. You will need a complete Roush supercharger kit minus the TVS head unit. Then you can bolt on the GT500 TVS that is the same size as the Roush TVS and custom make your own 10 rib belt drive....

It just doesn't make sense. There is no $$ savings to this rout and may even cost more than purchasing a Coyote specific supercharger kit.

There is a guy on allfordmustang web site that did the engineering and makes them. Do a search and you'll find him. PM him and he will give you all the info you need.

The last time I spoke with Jason I think he had both. Do a search for Sqidd, that's Jason.

I know who he is, quite well :) Spring/2014 is tentative release for the 5.0.

Do y'all reckon the cost in dollars, engineering, and energy will compare favorably to a new Whipple installation?

We're working on a 5.0 manifold right now that will allow the use of a M122, 2.3L TVS or 2.9L/3.4L Whipple. It will work on the 2011-2014 cars as well as the S550. The S550 part is why the project is being held up.

The manifold is based on our 3v R-spec technology, most notably a composite "bottom" for lower IAT's and weight.

We're hoping for a late summer release.

For the 5.0 the Roush and VMP 2.3 TVS uses a 6-rib and is driven from the 1st or inside part of the carnk damper that drives the A/C.
The 5.0 cobrajet 10rib drive is for a whipple but (might) work with a GT500 10-rib.
Of course different supercharger pulleys are available from several places.
With all the parts and pieces needed to complete the system will offset most any savings from using GT-500 TVS pull-off vs as (kit).
Over 2grand here and that doesnt include any exhangers, pumps, intercooler etc.

http://vmptuning.com/50l-superchargers/1313cj/ - only intake I found available separate.

FYI is you look at the installation instructions for the 5.0 ford/whipple kit and the Roush kit they are the same except for the ( brand-names ). There are obvioulsy GT500 carryover parts like the ireservoir/degas, coolant pumps etc.
