Hey, guys. I have a quick question. I recently received a used GT500 fuel pump. Now, as far as I know, the GT500 fuel pumps that you buy new come with a wire harness as well as the FPDM's. So, can the duel GT500 fuel pump work with the stock wire harness, or no, you need the one that comes in the kit? I have both FPDM's but was told the stock harness will work. It looks like the one that comes in the kit has it where you can plug both FPDM's in (As the stock one in my car right now only has where you can only plug one in).

The pics attached are of the wire harness that was sent to me, but he is asking for it back claiming that I can use the stock one.

Thanks for any help.

Its a yes and no answer. Yes you can drive both pumps with one fpdm. No the stock plug doesn't plug in. You need either the harness from the kit, or I believe Jeremy@S&H sells a wire harness that uses one fpdm. The issue is the plug on top of the duel hat vs single hat. OR you can wire it in yourself if your good with wiring.

Use a harness made for the dual fdpm setup. Been there, the shirt sucks. Your life will be much better I promise. If it will work with no problem then why does the guy want it back so bad lol.. Can't HE just use the stock harness???? Oh... see above statement lol.

its one of those situatons where 'mabey' you could but I don't reccomend it.

just for the fact that now you have one fdpm controlling both pumps from the stock power source.

that red 12awg goes to the second fdpm. two pumps take some juice to run right and to low power can eventually kill the pumps.

Exactly.

Cant really see much in the first pic but the second is the gt500 harness. Thegt500/frpp/saleen/ dual pump/dual fpdm system should have a harness that includes:

A power line from the fuse panel underhood with inline fuse to the relay.
From there power out to 2 fpdm plugs, the kit reuses your stock fpdm and comes with a new one. Then the harness runs to the fuel hat where it has a 6pin connector (vice the stock 4 pin) to plug into the GT500 fuel hat. Then there will be a small harness plug coming off by the hat that has 2 wires to plug in from the oem hat plug the 2 level sender wires high and low. YOU need this harness to run the gt500 hat.
At not time does this harness replace or remove the stock one it just stays there unused.

Do yourself a favor and read over the install directions for the gt500 fuel system install.

Did you get this from dabad1?

Seems he is confuzed on what harness he had or has cut and removed his stock one and sent it to you possibley.

Wouldn't surprise me after the WOTBOX I bought off him. Box itself was fine, but I think instead of de-soldering the wires, he just cut them all. They were all around 6" too short.

Also Jeremy, I'll have to call Saleen back but they told me their dual FPDM Harness would start shipping in August. I'll let you know if I ever get it.

Well after looking at the harness when i got back it does look like I have the correct GT500 harness. Its the 6 pin that fits in to the top of the fuel hat and has the connection for both FPDM's. also has the relay on it with three connection to it. Now there is a wire thats cut...looks like its the one that i run to the front of the car to get power. You can see it in the last picture that i have uploaded.
