Going to order the hardtop so I can switch between a hardtop and roadster. No fenders. I'm kinda going for how HotRod magazine did theirs, a mean black street fighter

Kit car. Way more unique. Thats my vote. I'd do something out of the ordinary with the powertrain as well. Everyone does the easy swaps, do something different! I always had a dream about putting a built 1st or 2nd gen Yamaha (Late 80's, early-mid 90's) SHO engine in a kit car of some kind. Rev to 8k RPMS and sound awesome.

Is like to do something different engine wise but I've already got the engine/trans and that's what helping keep it in the budget. I would definitely be more unique

If youve already had some newer powerfull cars then go old school. Im sure in the end it will be fast, fun and sexy as hell!

FFR, but get a nasty cam for that 3v. Can't have that thing sounding too civilized.

Yeah I've been through three powerful newer cars(550whp WRX, 513rwhp turbo '07 GT and a 524rwhp nitrous 20115.0) the wifes truck is a 400whp 2002 Harley f150 and I briefly had the FFR cobra. I think of all those cars I miss cruising the cobra the most. It got tons of attention wherever it went. I'm making some calls tomorrow to see how long it takes to get it after the order is placed. Once the order is placed it's time to order the other necessary parts ex.FRPP harness, racepak dash,Boyd welding 33 gas tank, JPC manifold(mostly for looks) and some other cool stuff I'm eyeing

If I can find a set of cams at a reasonable price I will for sure do that. Don't want to waste any of the turbo funds. It would help if I could find a used frpp control pack

That looks like the route I'll be going with. Hot Rod with Four link suspension, powdercoated frame, tilt column and some newer tech goodies that I've seen at SEMA and a local racers shop. Hopefully the bodywork isn't much worse than the FFR cobra I did a few years back

Going to order the hardtop so I can switch between a hardtop and roadster. No fenders. I'm kinda going for how HotRod magazine did theirs, a mean black street fighter

I have been researching and planning one of these for about a year. From what I have read on the Factory Five boards is the Cobra body is so bad due to the age of the molds. That being said, the Hot Rod still has fitment issues. It seems that once you are done having fun go-karting and decide to put the body on, there will be misalignments and a few niggles here and there. No where near the Cobra, but be prepared to put in some hours getting them correct.

Since you went to SEMA, did you see anyone offering chrome trim to make the windshield look split? I saw it on a handmade car at a local show and loved the look of a split front windshield.

I agree on no fenders also. It sucks you are doing this now. Last fall (I think that was it) they were offering a free hardtop to entice orders. I have no plans for a hard top. I have thought about a convertible top, but I think that would ruin the lines.

For motor I am thinking of going old school and putting in a blown Flathead. I have always loved how they look under the hood and would be rocking the car with the engine bay completely open to show off one of those beauties!

I didnt really look at any split window options for it. The trend ive seen on ffcars.com is to take the top rail of the roadster winshield if you are 6' or over to improve visibilty. Im still on the fence if i want to order the hardtop or not

I'm with everyone else on the FFR. I have been thinking about building one myself.

Yeah do the ffr man that thing would be sick with a turbo throw a set of bbr stage 2 cams and an frpp intake with the turbo and you'd be set
