I've been trying to figure out some gremlins on my car since I installed my JBA headers and O/R H. Initially was getting codes showing that my passenger 02 sensor was running rich, but after tune revisions and datalogging that went away and the car seemed to run fine for a while. More recently though I'm getting an intermittent P0104 code. I've already replaced the MAF sensor and ruled that out, my JLT intake tube is tightened properly and the air cleaner is positioned as far out on the tube as I can go, throttle body has also been cleaned.

On a cold start I have to press the gas pedal a bit to keep the rpm's over 1000 for the first 10 or so seconds or else the engine will start to bog and eventually die. If I let the engine die it will nearly always keep cranking but won't start until I wait like 5 minutes or keep my foot on the gas when cranking it. It will also sometimes die with the clutch pushed in like when I'm coming to, or at a stop. It fires up right away afterwards, but once it dies it will have a habit of stalling again until I leave it parked for a little while.

I pulled the plugs today just to see if there were any glaring issues with them. There's a little bit of carbon buildup but I suppose that's normal on a plug set with 40k miles. Do any of you see anything that I'm not? Drivers side plugs on the left, passengers on the right.

Sounds like your flooding it with fuel.
Pressing the gas pedal to the floor is signalling the car that it is flooding.

it sounds like if thats the case it's a tune issue, i don't think it's anything mechanical going on. if it was a cable throttle system i'd say the cable was out of whack but since it's not i think the tune needs adjusting.

EDIT: Read your post again and saw this:

I would check your mass air wiring as well. I looked up P0104 and it is a circuit code. A bad MAF signal will cause fueling issues for sure!

Did it not have the startup issues for a while? My first thought wouldn't be tune if it came out of nowhere without changing the tune.

Otherwise if your tune was rich other places it could be rich on startup.

Another thought that occurred to me is a flakey O2. A little strange for it to be only rich on one bank if it was the tune.

Yeah I've since ruled out the 02 sensors a couple months ago because I swapped the upstream 02's and was getting the code for the same bank running rich on an old tune. I actually had the wiring pigtail on the maf sensor replaced because I thought there might have been a fault there. The startup issues I think started intermittently, I can't remember though. I'll get on the horn with Bama and see what I can do.
