I got a set of the Hawk ceramic pads for the front and back for my Mustang GT. I also bought some SS lines, new rotors which I taped off and painted. So I decided to scuff and paint the visible backside of the break pads.

So, I opened the box of pads on Sunday to get ready for my pre/install and noticed that one of the front pads is missing one of the rivited springs. So I went back to the place I bought them to see if I could get a replacement. He said I had to go back to Hawk to get warranty replacements.

Has anyone delt with Hawk to replace a non-used pads that was broken right out of the box ?

I never dealed with Hawk but it seems to me that the place you bought them from sold you a defective product so they should replace them.

I spoke to Hawk and he told me the distributor has to take care of this...

I will let you know if the company I bought these pads gives me any issues so you guys will know the outcome.

That's kind of a cop-out on the seller's part. We get that once in a while with parts that we don't make, as we obviously can't open up every box going out, but 99% of the time, we will exchange the item and deal with the vendor ourselves, or at least help the customer with the vendor. They should just exchange them for you.

I agree SteedaSteve. I hope he steps up and helps me out. I even offered to buy a new set, have him ship them overnight and I would send the old ones back for a refund. I have not heard from him as of today though.

If he does not step up, I will just buy a new set from someone else.

Looks like everything is taken care of. The distributor is going to ship me a new set (should arrive on Monday). It will have a pre-paid UPS label so I can ship the old set back.
