Is it worth the money to get the high flow ford cnc heads over the stage 3 livernois ones. Or even the ford cnc heads and stage 2 heads.

the bottom end is a 302 stroker. Going with stage . Blower cams. With the saleen. Blower iI'd like to see mid 500. But will be upgrading blowers later so wanting a solid motor that could hold up to 650 or so.

The high flow stage 3 Ford heads are made by Livernois and are the same as the Livernois stage 3 heads. They are about $1600 per head. These are not the same as the lower priced Ford racing heads which are about $1000 per head. I have the stage 3 heads and am making stupid power for only 15 lbs of boost. Going back on the dyno later this week and hope to reach 700rwhp.

We do offer the Ford heads. We also do custom heads for you guys looking for more. Can we do a set of stage 3's with street guides? Yes we can. Can we do a set with a 1/2 mil over valve? yes we can. Can we do a 1 mm over set with a stock guide and custom seat? Yes we can. You do not have to purchase off the shelf parts for your custom combo's as we can tailor your heads to your build. This applies to every engine family.

cant say money isnt a option but i would rather do it the first time so when i upgrade blowers or change to a different one ill get the most out of it. just wasnt sure if the ford high flow head was the same as the stage 3 heads. cause there is a several hundred dollar difference.

The frpp version comes with limiters.

If this is something you are going to do anyway and you have the money now then do it now. It will save money and time.

I have a set of the frpp cnc heads. They were $1650 for the pair from Tousley. I think it was a good thing to do. While na I gained 30rwtq just from the head change and that was with stock cats.

i always try to use the best i can afford when i do something, so ill look into the high flow or the stage 3. whatever i can get at the best price. I already have limiters so dont really need then. Thanks for the input.

I'd suggest you research them on this forum. There was a bad run of bronze valve guides a few years back. I remember lito in particular had an issue. Others did too but his is the only one that comes to mind right now.

I'm sure the issue has been corrected by now but by reading the threads that document the problem you will be educated in what can go wrong. Maybe the Livernois rep will chime in with exactly what was bad and what they have done to prevent it from happening again. IIRC the valve guides were reamed a little too large.

I did several searches and read up on them. Was hoping the problem was solved by now, cause i havent seen any recent complaints. Why im asking redundant questions. Just how much is to gain on custom cams versus off the shelf. Ive read some on here but wasnt sure if its enough to really worry about.

Ordered custom cams from bullet racing cams today. Same price as off the shelf cams and they only take 1 week to grind. Why not go custom?
