Help! Did I fry my ECM?

Tonight, I was preparing for some warranty work by the dealer, so I removed my delete plugs and CAI, returning everything to stock. Long story.

About 30 minutes in to the work, I remembered to unplug the negative terminal of the battery. No big deal, I had plenty of juice.

Well, after everything was done, I hooked the battery back up and I put the ECM back to stock with my SCT tuner. Everything appeared to work. However, now, the car won't even turn over. It appears to have plenty of juice from the battery.

I went so far as to put the performance tune back and then reinstalled the stock tune. Again, everything appears to work, i.e. no tune failure, but the car won't turn over.

Note, while doing this, I also took the liberty of pulling the spongy material out of the sound induction tube, which is located near the brake and clutch pedals. However, there is no indication that I knocked anything loose, i.e. that the car thinks the clutch is not depressed.

What the hell happened? I have the battery on a charger just in case, but the charger is reading it has 75% of its power.

Double check everythings plugged in, cops connected, tb, maf, injectors, etc.
Also a trick to bypass the tune is start the car with just the maf unpluged it should turn over if theres fuel and spark.

Double check you didn't knock off a wire to the starter solenoid. I don't think a tune would prevent the car from turning over, but a wire off the solenoid, or something with the clutch pedal switch would.

Okay, I'll check. I looked around the clutch pedal again, nothings unplugged. Also, the battery is fully charged.

Where's the starter even located? I can't imagine I got near it when I removed the intake.

Isn't there an ignition fuse also?

Maybe check that.
Yep, I believe the ignition fuse is under the hood on the passenger side. Big black box by the shock tower. Pull out your user manual and find out which fuses the ignition and starter use.

Unless the "starter relay" is bad (I wouldn't know how to check that), it doesn't appear to be a fuse. I checked every fuse that could be related, to include the "ignition switch" fuse in the passenger compartment.

Clean your battery terminals and the inside of the cables where it clamps to the battery post.

Corrosion can be a bitch and cause you to have all sorts of electrical issues.

Looked at the battery cables, they are fine. The car is a 2010 with only has 7k miles on it. But I did unhook and re-hook the cables just to be sure. Didn't work.

How would I know if the passive anti-theft had initiated? The wife is out of town with the second key, so I can't switch keys out.

It appears the anti-theft system has been triggered, as the light on the dash blinks rapidly when I turn the key to on. After 60 seconds, it blinks slower in a '1 blink, 6 blinks' pattern.

When I tried to check DTCs, the SCT tuners says "unable to read DTCs." Has the passive anti-theft system (PATS) somehow disabled the computer? Interesting that it won't allow me to read DTCs, but it would (apparently) allow me to reload the stock tune.

Unfortunately, my wife is out of town with the second key, so I can't try it.

It mentions resetting the key USING THE SECOND KEY and, if that doesn't work, go to your local dealer :(

With the ECM not allowing me to read DTCs, I'm concerned this may be more than just resetting/relearning the key. I'm concerned the ECU is f***ed up.

Damn! I've probably been careless a time or two. I think I'll be more careful after reading this. Good luck and keep us posted.

what exactly happens when you try to turn it over? I'm assuming nothing? just the blinking PATS light? Do you have the message center gauge cluster?? If so does it say any errors?

Awhile back I made a mistake electrically and my car wouldnt turn over, nothing, just errors on the message center. i thought I blew my ecu, and when i plugged in my tuner it would load a tune but not read codes. Anyways after too much money at the dealership for special diagnosis, they found out that there's a Key relay switch, this switch is one that when you turn the key off it turns off everything in the car and when you turn the key on everything gets turned on, well this swtich blew so everything was constantly off, therefore no starting. So they put in a relay and it work fine now.

Nothing happens when it turns over. The message cluster reads "Service Advance Track."
