Im having a problem with the car when it sits for more than a couple of hours. So first off, on initial start-up, the rpm's are spinning pretty high, around 1100 when I have the idle rpm set at 750 on the tune. When I begin driving, I throw it into first and go half throttle and all I get is a very loud sputtering and cracking, there is almost no power just a lot of noise. After a few minutes it seems like something frees up and the car takes off, giving no problems with idle or power the rest of the drive. The best way i can explain it is when I hit the gas, the throttle is not working correctly, sputtering and flapping, unable to hold steady, and for some reason after a few minutes something gives and all is well again. I have no indication that it is the throttle, just trying to give an idea of how the car is acting.

Its an 06 GT with JLT 110mm intake, FRPP intake manifold and throttle body, ARH long tubes and off road H with Corsa Extremes out back and 4:10's. I had the car tuned by Adam at ST here in SoCal, and he did a great job with it, this problem didn't come up until a few months after I got the car back.

I have no idea what the problem can be, if it is in the tune or something mechanical. I tried searching random words like sputtering and cold start but couldn't really find anything since I don't know the exact problem. Any help on where to start trouble shooting would be great.

More than likely it's the result of the tuner using sct values for cold fueling. Unless you want to search out a new tuner the best advice is to let it warm up before driving.

I use to have this problem, still kind of do to a small extent, however, I got a dyno tune from Brenspeed and that has pretty much cleared it up. Do you have F/I? Bigger injectors?

Tried re-loading the tune to rule that out?

I'll try that out, see if it helps.

No I don't have F/I, and have stock injectors. If it gets to that point I just might have to try an e-mail tune.

Humm, LT's, O/R H FRPP Intake in Commie-phorn-eeah ...

Having a fast idle for 30-seconds or so at startup is normal, if it's longer than that you may have have a problem.

My car has a lot more done to it, but I have the same cold/warm start idle issues, especially when it's cold outside .. My tuner tweaked the idle tables a couple times but it's still cold natured and runs rougher for a couple miles till it's warmed up.

Things like this is the price we pay for running aftermarket parts.

Yea thats why I thought to mention it, the high idling lasts a lot longer than a few seconds. And yea I figured that since my mods weren't as extensive as others I wouldn't be having these type of problems....
