4 med boxes or one big box. Do youself a favor and send them via common carrier as LTL freight. [LTL= less than truck load] here are a couple of carriers Overnite, Yellow Freight. Also try to deal with a carrier direct, not a broker. A broker will stick it in your azz and break it off. How do I know? I'm a trucker, it's what I do.

Nice tip man. Thanks. I was wondering how the hell you shipped these things as well.

i shipped wheels and tires out by just putting some cardboard over the rims with tape. then saran wrap the hell out of them in pairs. took them down to ups and sent them on their way. no boxes needed

yup. won't be cheap. my two rims 18x10's shipped from CA to NY was going to be 90 bucks through ups. no tires. so i figure it'd probably be close to 150 with tires on both through ups. shipping KILLS a lot of potential sales for me.

+1 , Have shipped wheels from TX to CA a couple of times that way through DHL. If tires have air deflate them...i only paid about $140 i believe for 4wheels/tires.

DHL is international only now aren't they? I used them a while back to ship a couple transmissions..cheap and fast. I shipped 4 wheels/tires from Seattle to NYC for $180 via USPS a couple months ago, the time before that it was from here to LA, $160..pretty reasonable for 4 large ~50# packages.

I bought 5 bare wheels off a guy in NJ last year; he took them to a UPS store and had them do everything. He left there $360 poorer (sent me a pic of the reciept; only $50 of that was materials). I couldn't believe it.

Did DHL go international now? i thought i heard something about they were gonna go out of business but this was about a year ago (when i last shipped wheels) so i dont know what there status is now. They had a drop off station at my local CVS drug store but i havent been in there for awhile to check it out.

Tirerack sent me my wheels and tires with cardboard on the sides with straps all around the rubber. Worked perfect.
