I just bought a 2005 GT mint condition with only 41k. lady driven, this car is perfect, I wanted a 5-speed but this one is a auto, but its mint and i paid less than 9500.00 for it.. She was orginal owner..

Anyway, She had the daylight running lights enabled on the car so it was safer to drive.. I have looked in the owners manual on how to disable them but it only shows how to turn them on..

Can anyone help me out??

I'm guessing aftermarket as well. Anyone have these that give some input? I know web-electric makes a kit but I don't know how they're installed.

It has to be after market, but I didn't even know they made after market DRL.

has to be aftermarket, I believe they didn't come out with them from the factory until 2007.

The car has them activated.. In the cars owners manual it tell how to activate the drl's but no way to disable them.. I can scan and post the owners manual.. It didnt come from canada... Its not aftermarket either.. The car does have a aftermarket auto start.. Look in your owners manuals..

but if the car had warranty work and they accidentally flashed a Canadian tune into the car, there's your answer as well.

I talked to the lady that owned it she before me.. She said she read the manual and turned them on herself. after watching the news one night that said car with dlr are safer to drive.. Now the question is how to turn them off.. like I said the owners manual shows howto activate not deactivate..

Call a ford dealer. Im sure they can tell you. Have you by chance tried to reverse the procedure, or just do the procedure again.

doing a google search the only way to turn em off is to goto a dealer and have the SJB box programmed off. Seems it ranges from free to about $40 bucks

Nice job! Never heard of activating the DRL's before. Good to know, though I'll never do it. Sucks you have to go to a dealer to get them turned off, must be to keep it legal in Canada. Now how do I turn my "Global Windows" on? :roflmao:

Daytime Running Lights have been standard on all new vehicles sold in Canada since 1990.
On my old 2006 Superduty truck it was as simple as removing a relay to disable them. The wiring harness for American and Canadian trucks where the same then, except for the DRL relay not installed on American models.

I can't say it is that simple on this car, especially if some old lady activated them herself. Not sure what procedure is written in the manual, but why not just try that same thing as it calls for to activate, and maybe that will turn them off.
