Booyakasha!
They have to be an option (not offered in the U.S.) that the previous owner installed. I have seen a Ford DRL module installed a couple times on S197's.
One thing that you could check. il you pull your handbrake a little the light will shutdown (don't ask me why). Perharps a switch can be mounted there.
did you try and reverse the action that turned them on? why not look at the website here and see if you can determine howthey are set up

This is the same here. I called the previous owner, she had the a similar problem and when it came back from the dealership, the lights were on, the dealer then played it out as a safety measure and she bought it.. it wasnt on till the worked on the car..Mine suddenly came on when my key fob wouldn't unlock the doors so I reprogrammed it and since then I've had DRL. It's an 05 GT 5spd. Been trying to figure out how to shut them off too.
I tried figuring it out. No go.
After diving into this deep I found some info from different places.
Apparently it is a software programming of the SJB.
It is turned on or off using the SCN tool and is option 942.
However I also read that Ford has been putting Region Specific software in the SCN tools. Some have found the option Grayed out and not a selectable option.
If you have found the module you may just try to disconnect it.
It is supposed to be behind the front bumper cover somewhere.
