They have to be an option (not offered in the U.S.) that the previous owner installed. I have seen a Ford DRL module installed a couple times on S197's.

One thing that you could check. il you pull your handbrake a little the light will shutdown (don't ask me why). Perharps a switch can be mounted there.

Can't do it. The buzzer will alert you that the brake is on. It gets triggered the same time as the DRL's turning off.

I've been looking for a way to turn mine off and no luck (for free). Keep seeing that you must take it to a dealer. BTW - mine is a Canadian 05 GT

As peter said on another forum :

You can call auto Bugatti in montreal. They're the authorized Saleen conversion center in Canada (514) 636-3132. They may be able to help you.

The other option is to have the Smart Junction Box reprogrammed. Try to get a VIN # off of a similarly equipped US vehicle. and have the dealer program th SJB to the vin of that vehicle. It would help to have a friend who works at the dealership

Well I have searched the car over.. I went and removed the auto-start feature that was installed thinking that this would turn the DLR's off. The damn things are still on.. Any other suggestions.. Where would a aftermarket DLR's box be installed at... Help guys

Mine suddenly came on when my key fob wouldn't unlock the doors so I reprogrammed it and since then I've had DRL. It's an 05 GT 5spd. Been trying to figure out how to shut them off too.

This is the same here. I called the previous owner, she had the a similar problem and when it came back from the dealership, the lights were on, the dealer then played it out as a safety measure and she bought it.. it wasnt on till the worked on the car..

I also noticed that my DLR indicator light isnt on in the dash. I read the complete service manual and saw where the light should be on to remind a person to turn the lights on. I am totally lost on this

If I could get a service tech that has turned them off thru the SJB box, Could you post a walk -thru because my tech here at my dealership has no clue.. Actually no teeth either but I can help him with that....

I tried figuring it out. No go.

So I am basically stuck.. The dealership has no clue how they turned them on when they worked on the car last time.. I spoke to the tech. and he remembered worked on the computer (sjb) box on some settings? and then the lights were on.. Never could figure it out..

I would take the car to another dealer. I have dealt with techs on my 2005 GT that KNOW how the electronics work. There would be no "digging around" trying to find the setting. DRL will have to be activated (and deactivated) at the dealer through the SMB.

Just to clarify for folks, that little blurb in the manual on DRL is only saying "if you have DRL on your car (and only a handful of special case cars in the US WILL have DRL), when the ignition switch is "On" and the parking break is "Off", then the headlights will be on with a low power setting. It is NOT telling you have to activate or deactivate the DRL feature.

After diving into this deep I found some info from different places.
Apparently it is a software programming of the SJB.
It is turned on or off using the SCN tool and is option 942.
However I also read that Ford has been putting Region Specific software in the SCN tools. Some have found the option Grayed out and not a selectable option.
If you have found the module you may just try to disconnect it.
It is supposed to be behind the front bumper cover somewhere.

My 2004 F150 came with the DRL as part of my companies safety features. There is a circuit breaker under the hood in the fuse box which I pulled to deactivate them. Everything else works fine. I have not checked the owners manual in my Mustang but there may be one there that can be removed. This worked in Chevys too.

I have looked all over the front of the car.. and there is no module of any kind that would do this. It has to be in the SJB box. if my dealer has the section grayed out.. what it next.. I wanna have all my bases covered when i go down there again...
