I just bought a very nice 2012 V6 6-speed Premium in Grabber Blue (pic attached!) I got it at a very good price and it is in great condition.
However, I have always disliked (no, make that "hate with a passion") touch screens and prefer good old physical knobs, and switches, and buttons. As I say, this is probably 180 degrees off what most owners want to do, but I'd like to replace the whole audio/climate/navigation/touch screen complex with the base unit. Is this possible? Is it remotely possibly plug and play? Could/would a dealer do it? I'm a long, long time car (and motorcycle) guy, and I do most of my work myself, but electronic things give me the willies.
I know some of you will think "why doesn't he just buy a different car?" The reason is that it took me ages to find something close my perfect car, for a good price, for sale near me. So selling this one any buying one equipped differently is not what I would do. I'd rather live with the screen (if I must) rather than go through the whole search and purchase routine again. Trust me when I say: I kissed a lot of frogs before finding my princess--even though she has this one little wart that bugs me.
I'd appreciate any technical wisdom you all might be willing to share!
