I'm thinking the changes were just to the rear ends in the GT500s. There was an article on how they realized the problem with the newer power level.

Can anyone who is familiar with the welding process comment on if this "gusset" approach should be just as good as a full bead around the axle tube or at least considered good enough? By the looks of it, it would seem the gusset may be safer in terms of being less likely to warp the axle tube but I don't know.

Thanks

It definitely makes it less likely to warp. Assuming it was done correctly, puddle welds are quite strong. It's essentially a large spot weld, which is very effective and used throughout the chassis of the car.

Bummer. Guess I'll have to hold out for a brace from BMR or go with someone else's (che?) setup instead.

Don't wanna do it. I don't know if I trust to have it done locally and there is more labor than just sticking a brace in.

Well, honestly, we appreciate the customers we have and their "want" for BMR product - due to the loyalty/brand etc......but we feel the CHE brace is a very good piece.

I have probably sold 10 of them, myself (referrals) in the last 2 months.....lol

Yes, I told my engineer that....

What subframe connectors are those weatherman?

They're the Steeda. I had them just bolted on N/A, but had them welded for the turbo. I AM gonna get to Grove Creek Dragway this year come hell or high water!
