In need of softer ride

Does anybody know if putting v6 springs on my gt give a softer ride or will this just screw the suspension. Not a drag racer and don't corner @ 75mph.

To me, stock is pretty danged soft. It probably helps a little bit I am coming from a GTi with Bilstein coils set on the stiffest setting. Also, I've ridden in some other stock GTs that have felt a lot harsher than mine.

Monroe sensatrac shocks. I think it rides softer than stock, and it still handles nice. I do however have ford racing lowering springs. There only about 25 bucks each for the rears. Change those first and bet you will be surprised...

You could go with tires with a taller sidewall, like 70 series. A taller sidewall acts like a spring and will soak up some of the harshness. You could talk to Tire Rack and work out something that would give you what you want.

I believe the V6 springs are softer and they will not screw anything up. The swap would be straight forward, something that could be done in an afternoon.

After driving down the Pa turnpike for 3 hours I am thinking about swapping my Ultralites for CJ's

air ride will certainley ride nicer but be a VERY expensive option. cj/v6 springs will be softer but id think alot is in the shocks. adjustable ones will definitley do it, or as said above...maybe those monroes are softer

I spoke with Sam Strano and was told that after swapping to whatever non stock springs you choose the shocks need to be upgraded as well or the ride will suffer. Even though I went with the CJ springs which are not a whole lot different from stock he told me the reason I has not felt much of ride difference was my shocks only had 3K on them and were new enough to not be affected.

I went with the Koni SRT's based on his recommendation which are a good mix of street/strip performance.

well the car will drop a little bit which will have adverse affects on the shocks/struts due to the way they are valved. that's what i've been told. hence why cars lowered blow out their shocks/struts quicker then stock ride height cars
