-take off the lower nut
-remove the rod end from the knuckle pin
-use an air hammer and a punch bit to push it down and out.

have you tried a wrench to turn on the hex part of the knuckle pin?

Gotta love that blaster, true.

I'm not sure if I'm going to do the tie rods right now, after all. I put the car back together with its new struts (Koni yellow) and rebuilt strut mounts (Steeda HD), and the shake is 95% gone. In a straight line the car's wheel is steady up through 90. Go around a curve at 75+ and it starts ( ( (((( )))) ) ) again.

I have that Shake too. I gotta see about it.

using a zip tie on the boot may not seal it as tight as the OE clamp, which creates suction everytime the steering is extended and possibly sucking water inside the boot

Use a grease syringe, slide it under the boot and grease the joint every time you change the oil. It works.

Is the air hammer going to destroy or mushroom the pin?

Haven't tried turning it yet, no. I need to go buy a 22mm wrench. I know if I use my crescent wrench I'm just going to round it off.

I slid the boot down by accident while I was trying to get the outer tie rod disconnected and it definitely pulls a vacuum

I've been tracking mine down for 2 years, but feels like 10. It was 90% strut mounts, 5% control arm bushings. Still trying to figure out the last 5%.

now that you say that, if i can take off the rod end separately from the knuckle pin, thats all i need to be able to get the outers off so i can replace the inner tie rods
