bought the prothane kit for the front lower control arms. the rear bushings are cake to remove. what is the secret to the front bushings? i can't figure out how to press it out without undue stresses (don't want to bend it like the other guy on the board) After burning out the rubber and inner sleeve I spent about an hour with a hacksaw, punch and chisel and got one out. is there an easier way before i start on the other one tomorrow?

i tried the old 2 sockets and a vice trick and it wouldn't move at all.

Same boat as you.
Removed the rear ones...no cake!
Haven't tried the front ones yet.
In for ideas.

PITA is an understatement imo :dead2: The damndest thing is I cut those sobs before I put it in the press to finish the job. My recommendation is to just stay away from the press no matter how tempting it is.

just finished it with a hacksaw, map torch and some chisels. the front bushing is terrible. i have changed many bushing on cars but i will never ever change a factory front control arm bushing on a mustang again. on top of it, it took me longer to clean up the shop and tools from all the melted rubber than it did to do one arm! 2.5 hours in taking the arms apart and reassembling, 1.5 hours clean up. this doesn't count taking them out and putting them back in the car. no wonder the stealerships just put in new arms everytime!

Buy the Steeda Arms, or the fr500 arms, something other than messing with fucking with the factory ones!

LOL....man I swear Micheal Bay should make a movie starring "Godzilla vs The Hydra Bushing". Pretty sure Godzilla would get str8t Rodney king'd (tm).

I will buy one pre-assembled or do without.
