Just had a 2-3 gear shift run against a C6 with CAI and tune and that corvette held and was about to pull on my car. The throttle response in this car without a tune is so annoying; feels like if I had a big turbo with lag. The C6 was decently loud so I think it also had exhaust but he didn't said it over the highway small talk we had.

Anybody with a GT500 tuned has any input? Does the throttle response improve greatly or is mostly power. I apologize but is been about 9 years that I don't get a mustang tuned so I don't remember the changes the cars goes through. I think my 2011 Coyote tuned by Lund had a snappy throttle response after the tune.

I don't have a GT500, but I can assure you that a tune will fix the throttle response problems.

I sure hope because the car has a lot of power but is crazy that the C6 just hanged there. My old 5.0 Coyote with just CAI and ARH would of pulled up front hard on that quick 1-3 shift

Was it just a C6? Cause you should have blown it away if so. If it was a Z06 or ZR1, I could understand it hanging around a little better.

I had to lower the shift to second gear to be on better power band but we where kind of fast. I think I was in second gear at 3,500 rpm. The C6 didn't have any badges and I was just cruising and we kind of meet. It was a very casual hit but it surprised me.

This, my co-worker has tuned 09 Z06, and we were pretty close. I got the win, mostly due to me being auto I'm guessing (he doesn't totally be the crap out of his shifting). I can't imagine a stock 13/14 GT500 is any slower than whats in my sig, on a roll race.

Well, I had another encounter with that C6 and better chat with the owner this time. I am glad to know the C6 had the following mods against my 100% stock 2013 GT500:

C6:
  1. CAI
  2. Full Exhaust ( long tube headers & Catback)
  3. Cams
  4. Tune
I am feeling a lot better with my car because he only pulled 1/2 - 1 car ahead of mine on a 3 gear 3K rpm pull we did and my car held boost better today (12psi) but started to drop slowly. By the time we tried a 2nd run we didn't had much road and the quick pull we did I only had about 9-10 psi so I knew it was gonna start drooping bad to the usual 5-7 psi.

I have Thump RRR and Gates Racing belt on the way and soon I will order the adj Aux idler from VMP with their GripTec 2.6 or 2.5 pulley.
