Issue with Greg Weld skinny fronts clearing the calipers

Track day is Sunday, prepped the car today and was installing the Greg Weld's on the car; went to tighten the lugs and the wheel would not move, tried to turn it by hand and the rim was catching/grinding on the caliper; it's not the weights, the rims had the stick on weights and I had them removed for the traditional weights. The rims are for a S197 platform, has anyone else had this problem? Are the calipers larger than the 05-09's?

You can see in the picture where it was grinding on the caliper.

Side note-how much air should I have in the fronts? They are track use only.

Not sure about the '10, but I even needed a spacer on my '07 to keep it off the caliper.

When I researched tire pressure, I found recommendations between 37-45. I went with 42 for the track.

What rims were you using? What size spacer did you use?

42? Wow..thought I read not to exceed 35 except for sealing the bed..I will have to look at the tire again.

I used a 7/32 spacer with 15x4 Jeg Stars.

I believe they state 35lbs, but with the weight of the car the tires looked "flat".

I was told Pep Boys carries universal spacers, I will have to check that out tomorrow..

I have 23 lbs in the tires now, guess that's not enough!

Jegs and the Summit wheels were not designed for the large calipers for our cars. The Greg welds and Race Stars were designed to accommodate the calipers. Im still gonna have to go with the hub centric rings because the tolerances are so close if that wheel isnt lined correctly up it will rub. My Race Stars are very close to the calipers with the rings installed.

My race stars cleared so closely that the first time I drove on them my calipers scraped the stick on weight right off. I had them rebalanced (still stick on weights, but now they're located in a different spot) and it hasn't happened again. You may have to do a tiny bit of caliper grinding.

I run 45psi in my skinnies, but they are rated for 40.

Tried a 5/16 spacer and they still hit..sigh...so fucking frustrating.

Tried it on an 07 GT and it caught on the caliper.

FWIW, I had M&H bias ply front runners on 17" GTO spares for my G8 and ran them at 42-42.5psi.

I saw that; when I read his thread he said he was debating what to do, either grind or send them back...guess he choose option 2!
