The guy getting screwed with the Procharger got me to thinking about this. Let's make sure we are doing our iTrader ratings when we deal with each other on here. I know it's been said before, but it can be easy to forget to do it when there isn't a notice staring you in the face to do it (a la ebay). We are on the honor system and you are certainly allowed to speak your mind here, so don't hold back (like any of you do :roflmao:). It's really the only way to get a somewhat decent feel for who is solid and who isn't if you don't actually know the person.

It just sucks that 99% of us try to be straight up with each other and the other 1% are trying to get over on someone. I'd hate to lose the buy/sell section.

*Mods, sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Are you the resident iTrader king with 15 transactions? Damn...

And +1 to what you said.

LOL. I tell my gf that we are doing e-commerce on here and that's how I justify buying stuff all the time. Amazingly, she doesn't buy that story. :roflmao:
Just tell her you avoid paying taxes on all the transactions. Hopefully she'll appreciate that. :stfu:

I agree 100%. That is the point of the iTrader Rating System. And also the exact reason I put a sticky in the classifieds reminding people to fill it out when their transaction is complete

echo...

Everyone should be using the iTrade system, even the SV's!!! That willl help ID potential snags. I have made several transactions here, but only Doc gave me any feedback.

Yes this is a very good thing, and one of the main reasons I like this site.

I guess it's the economy, but seems like there are more and more bad or slow or shitty deals in the classifieds lately. Honestly, with the supercharger deal, then the thread about the guy not receiving his springs yet, and the crap luck thing that happened to Chris with his shop getting broke in to and him not able to ship out parts that have been sold... I have seriously considered discussing shutting down the classifieds all together. I would rather not have them than for people to get screwed.

Unfortunately we cannot control what happens between two independent parties in the classifieds. And about the only way that could have any control would be if there was some sort of independent 3rd party somewhere that when two people enter in to an agreement for a sale, the seller sends the parts to the 3rd party to be verified, the buyer sends the money to the 3rd party. And if the parts check out and are as advertised and agreed upon, the 3rd party sends the parts to the buyer and the money to the seller.

I have been in other hobbies where this took place. But with car parts, it would be a complete pain in the ass.

I can't get it to work. I have tried to leave positive feedback for DKO but it keeps telling me there is an error in my deal details. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

God I hope not, that would just blow. Please do not do that, because of a few bad events. I think the spring deal is being worked out. The feedback system works.

I agree 100% on the itrader, and always leave feed back, even when I don't get it. As for closing down the Classified, I truly hope that doesn't happen as my car would NOT be where it is today with out the deals I've gotten on used parts.

I agree with using iTrader as well and do not agree with shutting down the classifieds. I believe for most people, someone getting screwed over is not a reflection on the site, especially the way everyone jumps on shitty sellers.

Oh trust me guys, I don't want to shut it down. I want to have a place where people can buy, sell, trade, whatever. And do it with complete confidence. But there is always someone out there that is unhappy because the item didn't get to them magically the day before they even paid. Or some twatwaffle that wants to rip someone off. Or someone who is in a tizzy because there was a bolt missing. Or something.... Hell, for every one thing you guys see complaints about in the forums, I probably get 3 emails of people complaining or worrying.

I just don't want people to be afraid to deal on the board. And I take it pretty personally when we have a VSOP or a Grabber Pony ordeal happen because it makes the board look like shit and there is nothing we can do about it.

i filled one out for you didnt i?

i think the itrader thing is great. everytime i've looked at a part on this site i have researched the seller. thru itrader and thru posts. its up to you to protect your self from getting screwed best you can but hey...this is life and there are pos peep out there, and you may get messed up but its ultimately up to you to keep that risk at a minimum. and that may mean passing up a good deal on a part you want just because you cant find any history on the seller. truth is good deals will always come around if you wait an you probably dont need to be putting money in it no way lol. i'd rather wait a bit long an probably pay a few more dollars for something knowing i'm prolly not gonna get screwed.

No system is ever going to be perfect and no matter what you do not everyone is going to be happy. As one of the lucky ones that got screwed by VSOP I have to still say that the good of the classified section vastly out weights the bad. Doc, you, Kimmer, and the rest of the mods and admins do an outstanding job and if a few leave here upset ohh well, 97% or more leave this board at the end of the day happy with it and secure in the knowledge that it is the best forum to go to about our cars.
