I have tried pry bars impact so far and it won't budge. I have the puller mounted and have hit it with a impact maybe 40 times. It seems to be seized on the crank.

Anyone have any ideas before I cut it off?

I have thought about calling Brad at IW tomorrow to see if I remove the alum. outer part if they can sell me the steel hub by its self. So I can cut the hub off.

It may sound stupid but did you make sure the washer wasn't still in there?

I learned this the hard way......

Billy:

Can you put a breaker bar on the flex plate end of the crank and one on the balancer tool? The problem with the impact is that it is not getting full "impacts" because the crank being able to rotate slightly absorbs the "hits".

Did that once before, yes it is off.

Single key or dual key? I just ordered one of these balancers today.

Dual key, never been an issue before.

put some heat on it

That is the next step. Just waiting to talk to IW tomorrow.

Already tried, with a breaker bar on both ends. My 200 lb son on one end and my 200lbs on the other. And with the impact on one side with a bar on the other. Shit was about to break! It is seized for what ever reason.

Im calling Brad at IW tomorrow and if he can sell me just the hub then that is the plan. If not then I will have to just suck it up and cut the whole thing and buy another. I already have two pistons and a set of rings on the way. I just want to put my eyes on it. Either way those heads will be off tomorrow!

Its stopping me from diagnosing the motor to get it back to the track! The grinder is on standby! :thumb2:

Can you post a pic? Never had a balancer not come off with a puller myself.

I have never had a balancer not come off either. Can you see into the center hub? Does it look like the balancer spun on the crank snout?

Have you tried to spray PB Blaster into the hub/snout area? Probably not going to help but you never know!

You sure you have the pointy bearing on the end of the large screw so it can rotate? If not, you're threading it into the end of the crank.

Yep, going to disassemble the balancer and heat the hub with a torch while using the puller.
