LOL, just saw the posts above:roflmao:
This clown doesn't even know were in 2011.

He is the 3rd owner of a 6 year old kit and wants me to replace it for FREE. When I said it would cost $71.25 he said he would ruin my name on the forums. LOL

100 units went out the door in early 05 that had an issue. We replaced most every one and not all were returned. So 6 years later and 3 owners we will not be replacing this guys kit.

Hmm, the entire car is out of warranty, but JLT must warranty product for life and 3 owners...

Sorry bud, were talking about a Series 3 and are in the year 2011.

Offer still open to a new unit for $71.25, you know the code and web site.

Thanks

Jay

Ok i have to chime in here on JLT and Jay's behalf. They make very good products and have great customer service. I had an issue with a oil separator i bought and Jay didnt hesitate to fix the issue. Didnt ask any questions. Again i had an issue with my series 3 intake tube which was completely my fault. After talking to Jay he explained how the issue happened. Again he didnt hesitate to fix the issue and sent out a new tube. Did any of this cost me anything, No. I wouldnt hesitate to run a JLT product just because of Jay. He offers great advice and customer service.

Was $71.25 worth the bad will this guy is bringing upon your business? If he costs you (1) $250 cai sale...he won.

You are acknowledging you sent out a few defective units. imho it behooves you to make it right regardless of if its the original owner or the 100th owner, you sold a defective product.

Yup, sold a defective product and made good on it. Many thought we would run, go out of business or change the name, but we stood up and took care of the issue then and there.
It cost us a ton, but worth it as we are a stand up company.

When so many replaced parts didn't get returned, you can have repeat replacements and when someone comes up 6 years later with a kit purchaced from the 2nd owner you don't just send out free product.

Yes, he will try and hurt business, but we have a great rep for taking care of our customers.
Were different, were small. Were not Target and can't send product to people who threaten us with slander. We don't give in to scum like that.

Internet people like him are everywhere, give in to one and then the rest will follow. Our reputation stands on it's own and people know they can always call and talk to me directly with anything. If we were cheaters, we would have been out of business long ago.

He will never get a free intake from us, never! ;)

Thanks
Jay

seriously, I don't want to create bad will. This whole fiasco started when I saw a post here from Jay answering a question from someone else regarding the old tubes. He said in effect; "there shouldn't be any out there". I simply asked if my tube was one of the bad batch, sent pictures and confirmed it was one of the original units that were defective. Is it my fault a company has a recall and doesn't require the bad units be returned prior to shipping out a replacement ? Who would do that ? So their poor business decision hurts their customers who gets a bad product and now can't use it ?

I did buy the cai used from a for sale ad in classifieds, I was upfront about that to Jay. I even offered to pay 50% due to some information lacking about whether this tube had been previously warrantied. The original owner said it hadn't, but there was some gray area.

Yes the product was defective, yes JLT replaced them in good conscience. They did manufacture and sell a malfunctioning part, it is their responsibility to make it right.

Sorry Jay, my intent is not to run you out of business. But calling me a clown and a scum ? Nice.

Please, don't start acting like you not trying to hurt us or bash us and act offended.

Look at your signature. LOL

I've seen and heard about several threads where you posted the same crap like you did here, so don't play the "I'm not trying to hurt your business" card now that you've been called out.

I know of several others who have told you the samething. Get over it, I have.

he said he would ruin my name on the forums. LOL Jay

not true, prove it and I will publicly proclaim I was wrong, publicly apologize and remove any/all references to JLT.

I have all our correspondance, never have I threatened to ruin your name.

Fail to prove it and the honus is on you. And FWIW, I do not want any new parts, nothing at all from you.

Deal ?

I have never heard anything bad about jlt before this. But this ONE guy will not stop me from buying from them. I have a series's 2 right now and plan on switching to the series 3 as soon as I can. I will never run any other intake on any of my cars if I can help it. If they made a cai for an srt-4 or a custom cai for my TA I'd buy them in a heart beat.

Another happy customer of Jay right here. I've never had an issue out of a JLT product that was not MY fault. A phone call or pm is all it ever took to get it fixed. I don't care what the product is, everything has a shelf life. I do not know of any company that would replace a product after 6 years of use under an old recall or warranty. This is the reason why most warranties state they are "non transferable". Trust me if this 1 asshat cost Jay a $250 sale there are plenty of us willing to spend $400 for his products and then send our friends to him after they see and witness the quality of his parts (I have had 5 friends order his CF 127 for their GT500's since seeing mine). I've meet Jay a number of times at different events and talked to him multiple times online and over the phone. The guy even went out of his way to get my intake to me after the company I purchased it from took a month to order it; then they got a 4 week back order notice, after it was already paid for. I'm pretty sure I know how this went. The guy contacts JLT demanding something instead talking, then when he is not getting his way he threatens to smear JLT online any chance he gets, so Jay is done with this "clown".

BJ

Keep up the good work Jay!

And one more very happy customer of JLT! I was one of the folks that had a problem with the first generation tube. When I had problems with it, it had enough miles and time on it I didn't even think about warranty. When I called Jay to see how much just the tube would cost (Note: I wasn't called to bitch/gripe/complain, just to see what a replacement part would cost), JAY is the one that said they had some problems with the first generation and he sent me a new, color matched for free!. They even picked up shipping!

Heck, I even told him I don't mind paying for the replacement, given the age and mileage on it, but he sent the replacement for free anyway. At the time, I was wondering why he wanted me to return the old one. Now I understand...

So for me, JLT has PROVEN they believe in customer service and standing by their products. Sorry Ken. You come up with a story that just doesn't align with my experiences in any way, shape or form. Plus, you admit it is a 6 year old part that was NOT bought by you. Either one of those would have put you in the "no warranty" category for just about any automotive product I can think of (and most other products too for that matter). And Jay's offering you a great price to UPGRADE it for very cheap.

Stock to your guns Jay. And keep up the great customer service!

if it was gonna melt why would it melt on the 3rd car and not on the first...

and there's still no picture of the unit in question.
