Steeda, Airaid and FRPP all have Boss specific kits that have great fitment.

Link to FRPP kit?

FWIW, aside from the fitment, it does look great in the engine bay.

In the picture with the coupler, the CAI tube itself looks to be much closer to fitting than in the OP's picture. OP, is that as far as it sets down?

Agree looks great, but function > form

You shouldn't have to cut something, that cost over $300, to make it work.

Agreed

I hate buying an expensive part and I have to make it fit.. That gap isnt even close to being proper fit. Bottom gap is too big to be an easy fix with rubber boot not to mention the kink in angle. whats the point of buying smooth CAI if it creates that big of an angle right in front of the TB? Maybe the obstruction is minimal but i would be pissed off.

Yup

FWIW the business I bought it from said JLT is taking it back and refunding my money. That's at the least a fair outcome.

pace i believe they discontinued the FRPP one, being it was the exact same as the steeda unit. FRPP does have the tube needed to connect the boss intake to the factory cai.

OP,
Sorry your unhappy with the tube not matching up to the TB on the Boss manifold, but that is the way it is.
With the "Boss" coupler the fit is good and we have made the same power and those with Boss specific tubes.

We are a small company and retooling for a Boss is not in our budget like some of the bigger players.

We have seen no HP lose when using this coupler.

For those who jumped in to attack me for not responding:
Really? He posted on Sunday, give me a break. :sigh1:

You can't afford to make a proper tube for the Boss manifold?

Bullshit Jay. Just when I thought you couldn't spew anymore bullshit...

And who says its about the power? Maybe people actually like something to fit proper without using the cheap way out...

I appreciate you doing the right thing and issuing a refund. It is a shame however that you don't offer a proper-fitting piece. It looks (aesthetically) awesome.

Each tube costs us about $10K to get into production between labor, scanning and mold costs.

We can not afford to spend that kind of money when a coupler does the trick.

If that's not an acceptible answer, I'm sorry, it's just the truth.

You don't know me or our business, but if it's so easy, you should do it. (not directed toward the OP)

Same issue with the 123/127mm Blower CAI. Filter can go on too far and cause a messy signal. Should've added a few stops on the side of the intake.

Thats stock on the boss, which he already has. If you look at the paint, that looks like school bus yellow to me.

Yep I totally missed that. :highfive:

Yeah it looks like he has a LS

Or a standard boss... you could get SBY in either model. Buddy of mine just picked one up last week.

I am not judging you, even though some of my previous posts may come off as critical. I just have a massive background in quality and product design. This isn't the first product of yours that has been accused of being ill fitting. I know plenty of people make your products work, but it would be nice if they were just designed a little better from the get go.

Do not take this the wrong way, as I have zero idea what your P/L is, but I thought you guys were booming big time with tons of sales and distribution. I don't think you need to reflow a lot of your intakes, just make some adjustments to make them fit better, especially with some of the filters etc. Like including stops etc.

I'm just going off of his avatar. Could be someone else's pic though I guess.
