new Mustang owner... I've had lots of cars but never had a Mustang before. Picked up this 2008 V6 automatic for 1500 bucks. 173,000 miles. does have some issues. I've got a axle seal leak left rear and my dash lights are not bright enough to see the tachometer or speedometer during the day. night time is fine. standard dash lights.
18 years ago little brother bought a brand new well optioned '07 V6 stick. And now has 200,000 miles on it. Still the original spark plugs and all. He put in a chip and a V8 cat-back dual exaust. put 18 in wheels and low profile wide tires so it gives him better gearing for acceleration. He really likes his car. He drives it hard but still has not replaced the clutch. No need to yet.
I've always liked this particular style of Mustang '05-'09. So when I saw this 08 automatic The price was relatively cheap so I bought it... I'm an old fart who's had some fast cars and a blast driving with spirit! a couple of my past cars were a 56 Corvette and a couple of old Porsches, a couple of 60s Mercedes sedans and a '89 325 BMW . I had a couple of British cars, lots of Japanese... even had a old Fiat or two. Most my experiences been with the American cars of the 40s, '50s and '60s into the early '70s and imports later. Even have had a few pickups. presently a '96 Dodge 4X4 standard cab short bed. 318 and stick. I really do prefer a stick. But I'll drive an automatic if I need to or if it's cheap.
So I'm here for the info and fun because I do plan on doing some modifications to improve performance... want to be able to do like my brother does and give a GT a hard time trying to shake me off.
Thank you... from Kingman Arizona.
