Well we are having over fueling issues right now. Motor fires up then dies like in the first startup video....then I pull plugs and find them wet. So far we have tried one more tune revision and adjusting the Mafia on to the maf. Still overfuels. Really confused here because my motor was perfect the last day I drove it, parked it in the garage, pulled the M90 kit off and thats it. Just simply removed the M90 kit. Car has been in the garage 2 1/2 months. Other than installing the Fore return style level 4 fuel system no other mods were performed other than simply installing the Mammoth kit in place of the M90 kit. It's not rocket science so Im a little frustrated. Maybe there is something wrong with the Mafia I don't know. I do know I went ahead and installed a new OEM MAF and FRP sensor because I donated the originals to the new buyer of the M90 kit. Oh well, it will get sorted out.

I've had a few flakey mafias. You might want to get ahold of Jeremy for a pmas hpx.

I even disconnected the MAF all together and it tried to start as well. It hits and almost starts but it just soaks the plugs. I'm wondering if the E85 is bad. However it did test 80% using an E85 tester. I'm at a loss right now.

How did I miss this thread!!??

Subbing!!

I know this is irrelevant at this point, but your stock motor should have never ever failed at that power level.
By the way, how were you making 440rwhp with only 7 PSI?

I was at 11 PSI and making 440rwhp and 450rwtq.

Yes Gerald...how dare you miss my thread lol!

Oh there are plenty of guys out there that lost their stock motors in the 400's because of snapped rods. Give Brent a shout at Brenspeed. He has a whole dumpster full of windowed 4.6 blocks and snapped stock rods.

As for power, a B326 makes about 45-50 more HP than a 302.

My M90 setup was on a bone stock motor...

I am sensing you are challenging my 302E motor...:nk:
Do you really get that much more power out of 23 more cubes?

Yup. Bruce would be happy to do the HP yield per cubic inch math for ya. Speaking of math...23 more cubes lol? :poke:

Man Luv hearing that Roush Spin-Up on the Dyno.

Maybe a bad pressure regulator?....

I've dealt with similar issues before and I've ran across bad regulators, coils, cps, maf..... Do you have any CELs present?

Tim ...

I might just have an idea that might actually help.

That company that is I think right there where you live maybe go chat with them.

Then if they are close enough put it on a (Roll-Back) and take it to them.

That's what comes to my mind that might actually be of some real "Assistance".

Its a return style system right?

So the rails should be pressurized at a given PSI, lets say 40, as boost increases, pressure rises to lets say 50-60 PSI.

The fuel should be recirculating so no load on the injectors. If the return line is blocked, then all that pressure is going to the injectors.

The only other thing that controls fuel delivery is the tune which pulses the injectors.

Am I in the ball park?

I guess a bad sensor could force the PCM to dump more fuel than needed.

Have you been able to data log the start? What fuel pressures are you seeing?

Tim,

Did you swap the fuel system, B326, and KB kit in all at once, or in stages?

I had Brenspeed put in a B326 last summer when I blew my stocker. The car ran amazing all summer and fall with my M90 kit on it with zero issues. All I did was pull off the M90 kit in November, remove the stock returnless fuel system and install the 2.8L Mammoth kit and a new Fore Level 4 return fuel system and ID1000 injectors. No engine mods were done at all. No cam changes, no nothing.

Yes return fuel system. The Fore regulator works properly and maintains 45 psi per the gauge at all times. Monitoring everything through Livelink the fuel pressure shows the same through the OEM FPS. The return line is fine as you can here the fuel returning into the tank. No codes have been set.

I've racked the hell out of my brain and can't think of anything mechanical. The Mammoth kit and fuel system was time consuming but easy to install and understand. It's not rocket science so it's something tune related. Problem is Lund needs a log with it running long enough before he's willing to pull any fuel. Hell it's catch 22 right now. I'm in a corner.

Tim, thanks for all info. That helps clear the air a little more and remove certain things I have suspected. The Fore Stage 4 kit that your running does seen very straight forward as you said, it definitely isn't rocket science by no means and I do think you've done and trouble shooted all the same areas I would have suspected. So we can eliminate any motor issues,or possible position sensor faults then... I'm gonna keep picking my brain and get back to ya... A tune related issues seems very possible. If so, I know Lund will get it straightened out.

Tim did you upgrade any of the electric to use a controller like the FC2?

Thanks. I use the FC3 controller and it comes with all the wiring. It's very straight forward. This has all got to be in the tuning somehow. I was just wondering if anyone on here might have experienced this situation before. I'm hoping Jon can get this sorted out soon. He's a pretty busy guy so I'm pretty much at his mercy right now.

do you still have your old injectors? can you put those back in and reload your old tune, just to get it to idle and rule out the other things that could be causing the issue?
