It's bullshit that the bigger kid got punished for defending himself. He took a couple of punches while trying to prevent a fight. He then realized that it was time to defend himself. After the body slam, he walked away like he should have even though the little kids buddy tries to go after him.

Typical, feel sorry for the attacker and not the victim.

I think 6 inches in front of my face is cause to start the defensive maneuvers.
If a guy is 6 inches away from my face he is either my grandfather for a kiss on the cheek or he wants to do bodily harm to me, and that's just not going to happen.

It's BS the kid would even get in a little bit of trouble for protecting himself, schools are so fuckin soft today you are supposed to go run and tell a teacher AFTER you get your face bashed in? what happened to self defense?

When I was in school if a kid even balled up his fist close to me and twitched his arm too fast I would be swinging to knock his head off.

I hate bullies when I was a kid we moved all the time and every new school had the class bully. I was in more fights as a kid then you can imagine. Some times I won and some times I lost but when I would get my ass kicked I would still fight the guy every time he messed with me and even the big guys would eventually leave me alone. I always loved the way my Dad would back me up on every fight and sometimes he would really get into it with the school administration.
