Screw KOOKS!!! I talked to a guy named Kool-aid, he wanted nothing to do with me. I explained to him the clogged cats caused catastrophic failure to my motor and I got the same damn run around.
BAD TUNE!!! Bad tune my ass!!! I have data log's to show it. My tuner was even in my car when it failed while we were data logging to figure out what was wrong in the first place. I offered them the data logs. TUNE IS TOO RICH was said again!!! Blah blah blah, I wasn't even asking for anything crazy. I just wanted to get the two straight pipes and screw messing with the cats again. I didn't call up pissed. Really, how much do two mildly bent pipes cost Kooks? $50? Especially when it comes to helping a customer who already spent $1300 on their set up and now has to fork out thousands to fix what there product caused in the first place.
I will tell you what I tell people when they ask about Kooks. "GET SOMETHING ELSE!"

I've seen the cat rattling first hand on 3 different sets of cats on Branman's car. It seems like it would be easy to move the o2 bung out of the cat thus eliminating the 2 piece catalyst that causes the rattle.

Kooks def needs to find a new design of cats. The current ones are junk IMO. I went through 2 sets of these and had the exact same issue as the original poster. The second set didnt even last 40 miles. Kooks and i went through the tune discussion and all. The tune was all good since Chris Rose handled the tune. I ended up having to settle for something I am now not happy with cus my car sounds like shit. I paid alot of money for my exhaust to sound like crap. I had to settle for catless pipes and I dont like how it sounds with the h-pipe now so I had to put my stock exhaust back on just to quiet it enough so it doesnt sound like complete shit. They really need to man up and take care of there customers. I paid for a catted system which cost more than a catless system and now im stuck with a shitty sounding car. Kooks = 1 Me = 0.
at idle with cams your stang prob sounds better. my kooks cats are holding up so far.

I have had kooks high flow catted H pipe on my vorteched engine for over a year with no issues. Perhaps there are issues and I don't know it yet. What would the symtoms be when the cats are failing?
I am sure that Kooks has 100's of satisfied customers, GREAT! However the point of this thread is that when their products fail, you either get told it isn't their problem or you have to jump through so many hoops and spend more money out of pocket that it isn't worth it.

Basically mine just rattle they still seem to function ok I guess. When the car is cold (obviously) just reach your arm under the car and tap on the cat with your fist. Mine would make a nice rattle. Another easy way is to basically lightly kick the tips of your exhaust. Then the system heats up and it expands the noise goes away pretty much. I think I may have a local shop weld in some cats for me cus I doubt kooks will ever do anything to fix the problem since most likely most people dont even notice the sound. I am a tech at a Land rover dealer so I am used to listening to noises and such so I pick things up like that pretty fast. If I didnt spend a ton of money on the exhaust I probably wouldnt be so upset but that shouldnt happen on a $1200 dollar exhaust system.
i toured stainless works setup last week. had their stuff on my 06, the quality is awesome. everything is done in house, all american made
