These are with out a retune? Just straight bolt on?

It will work on as a bolt on if all stock.
A tune is recommend if no tune is in the car to take full advantage of it.
The stock ford cal will close the TB at wot

The testing we did was with no re-tune.
We tested them on a totally stock setup(which you will gain in the mid range from the TB but not much if any at peak with the stock cal because of what the cal does at wot).
We then did a back to back with the ford cai and tune already installed in the car as a baseline then just added the TB and gained 10rwhp (no re-tune) just a TB swap

There's more to a throttle body than peak power numbers. How is "drivability" affected? Does it improve throttle response or the smoothness of revs?

Totally agree.....

Driveability is like stock.
Throttle reponse and smoothness will improve.

Beside peak is hp numbers under the curve which can and will show bigger gains then seen at peak power.
Its all about average HP not just peak power.

I'm sure...

There is no way to gain 2mm just by porting, the blade itself is still only 80mm. There's more than just 2mm worth of diameter that goes into these L&M throttle bodies. All these guys do is airflow, they have a whole bunch of tricks they do to gain more airflow, but also keep the velocity up as well.

what...

The stock intake will "close" the throttle body at WOT? That makes no sense.

Will this work with a JLT CAI and Boss 302 manifold combo no problem? Thanks

NIce!!!!...

if the alleged 25 pounds of torque are real.... its worth every penny...

that plus my catback + xpipe + CAi and a custom dyno session... should put me closer to my goal of 450 rwhp...

I think it might have been on ModularFords.com, but some shop tested and they picked up around 4 hp on a N/A setup. I personally think it'll be a great upgrade for a FI setup, but for N/A it may not be a great upgrade for the cost.

The one i found that was 4rwhp was a 4.6 3 valve..I think the 5.0 should do a bit better...
