I hope I'm just being paranoid, but today while I was jumping off my work car; I noticed a ticking noise that sounded like lifter tick to me. It doesn't sound like the dread tick, which sounds like someone clicking a BBQ igniter over and over. This sounds just like lifter tick to me.

Granted it is 45 degrees outside now and its been below freezing for days and I don't DD this car anymore, I drive it like maybe less than 10 times a month. So I recorded it when it was cold and then recorded it after several minutes of warm up.

Here is the Idle when cold:

Is this normal or a potential issue? Or is this a common issue with DOHC engines?

I'm not an expert, but it sounds fine to me. I've got 2x 2014's and they sound like your videos. One has 5,000 miles, the other 25,000.

This engine has so much timing chain and valve movement it's going to make noise. I think you are worried for no reason. JMHO

Thanks. Thats what I was hoping. I listened to a bunch of videos on the ticking issues and I didn't think it was the same thing. Mine is a 2013 with 36,000 on the clock i think.
