Trying to decide on some LongTubes. Biggest question with the H pipe and X pipe. The catted mid pipes are they for passing emissions.Or can the the Off road h and x pipe pass emissions as well.

The off road pipes will NOT pass emissions. They have no cats at all. That said, the X pipe sounds a bit more raspy from what Ive heard while an H pipe is a little deeper. I have an O/R H pipe though and it is more raspy than my brothers catted X pipe. I dont know, Im gonna get new mufflers to remedy the raspyness. It bothers me.

Headers, stock mufflers with a catted X pipe is what I have, I learned to like it. Without the cats it was way too loud and raspy.

I would love to hear some clips of this setup. I have scoured the internet and cannot seem to find any! :mad2:

ill take some clips tonight but i dont know how good the sound will be as its a pretty shitty digital camera...i dont have an HD camera to use.

ill still try though and post them up. its not very loud at all, more subtle with a deep bass.

That would be great, I am trying to find a setup where the longtubes don't make the chambered mufflers sound like tin cans. I have heard some stock Gt mufflers with lts and they sound pretty good as well. Exhaust on an s197 will drive you crazy!

....you should try getting it decent with a v6!...

ARH lets, high-flow cats to x, through borlas; sounds good, but an H would be deeper I'm sure. o/r x would be better for power, o/r h for a mean and nasty (in a good way) sound.

The big problem for me is that I am stuck on the 2v with flows sound... Not really crazy about the x pipe sound or straight-thru mufflers.

Agreed. I ran LT's, an O/R H-pipe, and the 4" Ford Racing mufflers and it sounded damn good.

Here is mine with the setup above. Disregard the first 12 secs or so, the camera was too close to the car and it wasn't an accurate representation of how it really sounded. Listen to it as its driving off and when it comes back. That's how it really sounded.

i cant get a good enough sound. i will have to find a better camera. its to muffled and has too much bass to make out how it actually sounds.

I have American Racing long tubes, off road X, and magnaflow mufflers. Wanted a catted X but deal came up on set up with the off road and not as loud as I thought it would be. Even with top down, and getting on the throttle, not that loud.
